| True speed of 3200 films? | 04 Jan 2004 15:26 GMT | 14 |
I have not tested myself, so: People usually say that the "true speed" of (say) TMmax 3200 is around 1000. Ok. But is this 1000 the same as in "the true speed of tmax100 is about 50"? So the ISO speed of Tmax3200 might be around 2000?

| Yet another Omega question... | 04 Jan 2004 06:16 GMT | 23 |
I've searched the web, including Google Groups, but I can't determine the physical dimensions of a D2 or D6, two of the larger enlargers I've been looking at. My ceiling in my dark room is 7 to 7.5 feet high, and the D6 is an XL frame, to my knowledge--I've also only got about 3 ...

| Age of Lenses | 04 Jan 2004 02:59 GMT | 16 |
Hi, yet another newbie question here: I see several El-Nikkor lenses on ebay, some of which I've heard are good lenses, 50 2.8 and 80 5.6. The lenses I'm seeing a lot of, however, are obviously older lenses. They look like they come from the days of Nikon AI lenses. Are these ...

Polaroid Type 55 PN film negatives require a clearing solution that is sodium sulfite in water. How long can I expect a properly stored mixture to last? And does anyone know the capacity of, say, 1 liter of solution?

Just a word to let you know that the version 3 of my software arrives progressively online ... The software is now connected to th? real world and drives the enlarger. It is still rather simple as it only switches on and off the enlarger, two

| silly question about matting | 03 Jan 2004 04:38 GMT | 4 |
Dumb question: Say I have a 8x10 print that I plan on putting in an 11x14 frame. Do you guys mount the print to an 11x14 board, with a facing board on top (with the 8x10 opening)?

| Paper negatives | 02 Jan 2004 22:26 GMT | 6 |
Any suggestions for doing paper negatives? I want to use paper in 4x5 pinhole camera. The Kodak RC paper has "Kodak" all over it! Englarging type papers would be good for this, as they are around ASA 6, by my understanding.

| Enlarger advice | 02 Jan 2004 21:37 GMT | 54 |
I'm considering a better, used enlarger to replace my Opemus III (also purchased used). My main complaint of the Opemus are lack of column height - so, I have to go to a WA lens to crop a 24x30cm print; there is no filter drawer so

| Black spots in the negative?? | 02 Jan 2004 21:05 GMT | 7 |
From time to time, I get some black spots in my negatives (white spots on prints, slightly fuzzy). They are not dust specks - they are real dots in the emulsion (I've used a 10X loupe to look at them).

| Microdol-X at higher dilutions | 02 Jan 2004 19:17 GMT | 3 |
Has anyone tried Microdol-X at "higher" dilutions, such as 1:6 or 1:10? I develop 35mm TMX in Microdol-X at the 1:3 dilution and am wondering if higher dilutions will offer any advantage in grain, sharpness, compensation, stand development, etc. Can't seem to find any info on ...
