Saunders LPL masking frame avail.?24 Dec 2003 07:02 GMT1
I have a bent arm on my older model LPL 11x14 masking frame. Is it possible
to replace the masking frame? If yes, where would I purchase that part?
Thanx- F.
Practical 35mm enlargment sizes???24 Dec 2003 06:33 GMT131
I was reading some interesting articles the other day about the guys that
use large format 8x10 cameras and how much they love making contact prints
of their negs of the same size.  I am shooting 35mm B&W film right now and
getting ready to print.  Since I need to enlarge, I was ...
Rodagon 60 and 80 WA24 Dec 2003 05:56 GMT8
What size film are these lenses intended to enlarge?

Adams is the classical expression of photography.
Scarpitti is the classical expression of a damp anus.
same fixer for film and paper?23 Dec 2003 08:31 GMT17
For many years, I've mixed up a quart of rapid fixer with hardener for
film, and a gallon of plain Kodak fixer with hardener for paper.  I
can;t remember why I got into this habit.
I'm happy using regular fixer instead oif rapid fixer for both,
DIY print developers22 Dec 2003 23:13 GMT8
Having had some success mixing my own developer, Barry Thorntons
(R.I.P) 2 bath, I thought I'd have a go at a print developer. Can
anyone recommend something economical with a decent lifespan? I use
Ilford MG paper and a condenser enlarger and aim for high definition
PVC film washer plans? 22 Dec 2003 02:32 GMT4
It occurs to me that I could make a great film washer out of the pvc piping
my plumber now uses. Are there any plans for one publicly available?

Questions about negative contrast21 Dec 2003 02:04 GMT1
Questions about film contrast.
The recent discussions have left me somewhat in need of clarification.
I put down points which I think I know, but some of which
will need correction.
Old Forte PolyWT RC filtration response part Deux20 Dec 2003 21:06 GMT8
I mentioned in a previous post an old box of Forte Polywarmtone RC had
stopped responding to high contrast (magenta) VC filtration. My friend gave
me some old horrendously contrasty 35mm Panatomic-X negs vintage '60s to
print so I finally had a chance to go the other direction. I'm ...
Jobo film reels - difference between 2501 and 2502 reels?19 Dec 2003 15:46 GMT2
Beyond price, which is a huge difference, and that the 2502 can be set
for 127 film, what is the difference between these two reels?  There
has to be a greater difference than the 127 capability to justify the
price differential.
Attack of the Zoneheads19 Dec 2003 14:25 GMT10
I swore I wouldn't but I just feel compelled to add my .03 on the ranting
and raving by certain people about the Zone System - it's a cult, it's
unscientific, it doesn't work, etc, etc, etc. All I can say is the bottom
line in photography and in life is results. Judging by the ...
LEDs for the darkroom18 Dec 2003 21:43 GMT15
I bought a string of 35 amber LED CHristmas lights.  After a minutes
reflection, I took them down the the room I will be using as a dark
room and plugged them in.  They give much more light than the Kodak OC
filter with a 15 watt bulb.
Shelf life of powdered chemicals18 Dec 2003 19:52 GMT9
I have assorted foil pouches of Kodak stuff that has to be 15+ years old in
the darkroom.  Is it still good?
Pre war Colour 35mm Slides18 Dec 2003 06:32 GMT14
I have a small collection, 100 or so, colour slides that were taken by
an old relative.  Some of the slides date from 1938 and show Austria
during the nazi occupation.  I also have some prewar shots of London
and a number of slides of London in the 50's.  I have bought a slide
Forgive me if this question has been asked before....New Agfapan APX 100 & 40018 Dec 2003 06:22 GMT13
I'm curious if people have had experiences with this new film and what
they were.  The only way I found out there even *was* a new emulsion
was from digitaltruth.com...None of the local photo joints seem to
carry it so I'm wondering what i'm in for when I order it online.
