Lets all go to the Killfile.  (Some tips)11 Oct 2003 20:44 GMT1
I haven't been posting/reading R.P.D much lately (shame on me)- but it
seems somewhere around 3-5 months ago someone started baiting others
on something like "how to properly do this". etc.  I can't remember
his name but I remember the first time I saw who I believe this guy to
HP5 and Rodinal?11 Oct 2003 19:16 GMT24
I've a roll of HP5 exposed at 400 and the only developer at home is rodinal,
and after reading technical data of both I'm confused.
Times from Ilford Technical data for HP5
hp5 at 400 in rodinal 1:25 6 minutes
Time to debunk the ZS "debunking"11 Oct 2003 19:01 GMT21
With the recent onslaught of insensate, intemperate and ill-informed attacks
on the Zone System, it's time to remind all, critics and adherents alike, of
what this system is and isn't, especially what it does *not* prescribe nor
proscribe. I've included several passages from ...
variable contrast filter question11 Oct 2003 18:11 GMT5
Perhaps this is a dumb question. . . but. . .
I have a condenser enlarger, print on variable contrast paper, using above
the lens filters to increase contrast as desired.  I had read or heard some
time ago that lower # fiilters (e.g., 0  or 00) would not work effectively
something wrong with my processing?10 Oct 2003 23:56 GMT14
With kind advices from folks on this forum, I started doing processing
B&W film this weekend.  First attempt: 3 rolls in Rodinal: Tri-X 400,
Delta 400, T-MAX 400.
I'm not sure about the result though: The film margin where you see
Edge Effect - pics?10 Oct 2003 23:43 GMT14
Does anyone have  images that show edge effect that can be put to a web site
to share?
I have my idea of what it is, but some other opinions might be usefull.
(It will be hard to show subtle edge effects, so I suppose examples will be
PanF, Tmax 100, or Agfapan 100 for high contrast Antarctica scenes10 Oct 2003 22:52 GMT9
I'm going to the Antarctic in 2 months with a 4x5 camera - does anyone have
any opinion on whether I should stock up on PanF 50, Tmax 100, or Agfapan
APX 100?  There will be many very high contrast pictures.  I've used all
three - I like Tmax's exposure latitude, I've gotten some ...
spotmeter and color10 Oct 2003 21:22 GMT4
I decided to post this question to this newsgroup although it has nothing to
do with darkroom activities because it seems there is a more "lively"
discussion (in some cases, I may be bordering on understatement) on various
subjects in here. My question is what is the efficacy or ...
Math and darkroom10 Oct 2003 19:51 GMT3
Hi, I'm looking for math relations between develop time and bath
diluition at constant ISO exposure, and between develop time and ISO
at constant diluition, if these relations exist! Thanks

Air Bubbles10 Oct 2003 18:06 GMT20
I have been having some small white spots showing up in the gray areas.  I have
been told that I need to rap the tank, on a hard surface, once I prow the
developer in.  Is there a potenital problem if you rap it too much?  Is there
any other potentila problems?  Will it affect the ...
Favor please? (web image)10 Oct 2003 15:51 GMT16
Would someone do me the favor and test the following link?
It works within my own domain, but I have no idea if it makes it beyond
firewalls.
It's just a simple test using a benign photograph in an open directory.
Contact Printing 8X10 negs10 Oct 2003 12:29 GMT11
I got my first 8X10 camera a few weeks ago and am making contact BW
prints (wet) for the first time.
All I am doing is sandwiching the negative over a sheet of
polycontrast enlarging paper with glass and exposing it using my
Developing Films10 Oct 2003 11:08 GMT2
I develope 3 rolls of EFKE R25 or any 120 B&W in  Rodinal developer diluted
1:25, 1:50 or even 1:100.
Does the different dilutions have any effect on the tonal range/ contrast.
If I havent expressed this right be patient.
