Max D Borderless Print, Any Need To Fix?20 Oct 2003 04:29 GMT1
Is all the silver in a sheet of graded paper reduced when a borderless,
maximum density, totally black print is made?
If so is there any reason to use any fixer at all?
Also if a VC paper is printed the same, but at contrast extremes, is
colour stop bath. How strong?20 Oct 2003 04:02 GMT14
How strong should I make up stop bath for colour use? I've seen
suggestion ranging from 1% to Kodak's of close to 3%.

Stop bath strengths: take your pick20 Oct 2003 01:09 GMT12
In another thread about colo[u]r processing, I asked for recommended stop bath
strengths (in % acetic acid). Somebody said 2%, which I'd never heard before.
So I went a-Googling, and here are just a few of the recommendations I found
out there:
enlarger optics problem20 Oct 2003 00:40 GMT19
Is my lens wonky?
I recently bought a new Omega/Arkay 35mm carier (pn 423-352) with an
aperture that is slightly larger than (24 x 36) frame size, in the hopes
of printing the entire frame without having to resort to a metal file.
Kodak T-max-400 to grainy on condensor enlarger.20 Oct 2003 00:05 GMT26
Just shot a few films of Kodak T-max 400 (almost as good as the Ilford
counterpart, but a lot cheaper to get in Germany ;-) ). While printing
the film on a condensor enlarger, I found that the prints where too
grainy. ('ve had the same problem with Ilford Delta 400, so I think I
Grade filters for Beseler 45 MX - product references ?19 Oct 2003 21:22 GMT8

filters product references which could be cut-fitted to the 45 MX

Hmm an idea...19 Oct 2003 19:12 GMT2
Maybe we could get rid of MS AND make some money in the process:

Film in Prague19 Oct 2003 19:08 GMT5
B&H is closed for the holidays so I was wondering if it would be cheaper to buy
my film in Prague than to get here in a local shop.  LonelyPlanet lists Milan
Skoda Fototechnika and CTK Foto Shop as two good photo places to go to. I
generally shoot mostly Tri-X and Fuji Reala but ...
There *is* less silver in films19 Oct 2003 16:37 GMT52
Turns out it's not an unfounded rumor after all.
But according to this account, it is the "T-grain" films that use less silver
than conventional films:
An interesting modern innovation in photographic emulsion technology is
thought this might be interesting19 Oct 2003 09:07 GMT8
Well whats his name is at it again.  This time, aside from being one
of the best printers in the world, he invented the use of negative
space!

newbie dry mount questions18 Oct 2003 13:54 GMT9
I'm interested in mounting some of my 5x7 fiber prints.  I'd like to try
using a household iron to dry mount...of course I wouldn't try this for
anything bigger but I've read numerous success stories and I'm guessing the
success rate is higher for smaller FB prints.
Tech Pan and Xtol18 Oct 2003 06:42 GMT2
Does anyone have any info on processing Tech Pan sheet film (4x5) in
Xtol? I can't seem to find much documentation on this combination. All
I really need is a EI/Temp/Time chart. Any info or a point in the
right direction would be incredibly helpful.
Buffer etc18 Oct 2003 04:31 GMT2
An on_and_on_and_ongoing thread about borax/metaborate prompts me to
this post.
The following is actually not necessary to know even for hombrewers,
but some might like or need to know anyway.
