| Max D Borderless Print, Any Need To Fix? | 20 Oct 2003 04:29 GMT | 1 |
Is all the silver in a sheet of graded paper reduced when a borderless, maximum density, totally black print is made? If so is there any reason to use any fixer at all? Also if a VC paper is printed the same, but at contrast extremes, is

| Stop bath strengths: take your pick | 20 Oct 2003 01:09 GMT | 12 |
In another thread about colo[u]r processing, I asked for recommended stop bath strengths (in % acetic acid). Somebody said 2%, which I'd never heard before. So I went a-Googling, and here are just a few of the recommendations I found out there:

| enlarger optics problem | 20 Oct 2003 00:40 GMT | 19 |
Is my lens wonky? I recently bought a new Omega/Arkay 35mm carier (pn 423-352) with an aperture that is slightly larger than (24 x 36) frame size, in the hopes of printing the entire frame without having to resort to a metal file.

| Kodak T-max-400 to grainy on condensor enlarger. | 20 Oct 2003 00:05 GMT | 26 |
Just shot a few films of Kodak T-max 400 (almost as good as the Ilford counterpart, but a lot cheaper to get in Germany ;-) ). While printing the film on a condensor enlarger, I found that the prints where too grainy. ('ve had the same problem with Ilford Delta 400, so I think I

| Film in Prague | 19 Oct 2003 19:08 GMT | 5 |
B&H is closed for the holidays so I was wondering if it would be cheaper to buy my film in Prague than to get here in a local shop. LonelyPlanet lists Milan Skoda Fototechnika and CTK Foto Shop as two good photo places to go to. I generally shoot mostly Tri-X and Fuji Reala but ...

| There *is* less silver in films | 19 Oct 2003 16:37 GMT | 52 |
Turns out it's not an unfounded rumor after all. But according to this account, it is the "T-grain" films that use less silver than conventional films: An interesting modern innovation in photographic emulsion technology is

Well whats his name is at it again. This time, aside from being one of the best printers in the world, he invented the use of negative space! Its under rec.photo.technique.art and thread "some of my work". I

| newbie dry mount questions | 18 Oct 2003 13:54 GMT | 9 |
I'm interested in mounting some of my 5x7 fiber prints. I'd like to try using a household iron to dry mount...of course I wouldn't try this for anything bigger but I've read numerous success stories and I'm guessing the success rate is higher for smaller FB prints.

| Tech Pan and Xtol | 18 Oct 2003 06:42 GMT | 2 |
Does anyone have any info on processing Tech Pan sheet film (4x5) in Xtol? I can't seem to find much documentation on this combination. All I really need is a EI/Temp/Time chart. Any info or a point in the right direction would be incredibly helpful.
