Chemical reaction23 Oct 2003 20:51 GMT11
Hi, I'm looking for a book containing chemical reactions that occour
during darkroom work: develop, stop, fix and so on. I've bought "The
darkroom cookbook" of Steven Anchell, very interesting, but I would
like to study the chemistry that is involved in photographic

Does anyone have ANY information on Rodinal Special? I have been given a
bottle with no instructions. The Agfa site gives some info but not much.
Thanks,  Bob
Pull Processing23 Oct 2003 13:38 GMT7
Due to a massive vapor lock of the prefrontal lobes I blew a roll through
the C-330 with TRI-X PAN PROFESSIONAL  at ASA 100   *.*   thinking it was
E-100VS color transparency, which is what is normally in this body...
Now, given that I thought I was shooting color I suspect there is ...
Two filters for split-grade printing??23 Oct 2003 12:43 GMT12
I just got a 300mm Componon S enlarging lens, a monster piece of
glass. I will be using it on a cold light head enlarger for B&W
printing. I want to use two 4" square filters for contrast control. I
once read somewhere about using two filters not specifically made for
Question about El-Omegar lens23 Oct 2003 06:05 GMT15
After many years I am getting back into some enlarging/printing.
I have the Omega B22 with El Omegar L455-110, 1:3.5 50mm lens made in
Japan.
I will be printing from 35mm negatives on at most 11 x 14 paper.

Fuji Crystal Archive Matte vs. Glossy22 Oct 2003 19:23 GMT2
I'm using the matte, which I like very much (type C, for landscapes).
Does anyone use the glossy, and if so, do you think the glossy looks better
than the matte?
Thanks,

Replacement for EDWAL FG-722 Oct 2003 03:37 GMT19
As you may have read in my previous postings, or if you were smart and
ignored them, I had spent many years developing films using EDWAL FG-7
for everything.
I took a six year hiatus from photography and am starting to get back
dust spots21 Oct 2003 20:08 GMT20
I just made a few B&W prints from negs that were developed in a pro
lab.  I noticed how perfectly clean the negs were as I pulled them from
the glassine sleeves and how quickly they tended to pick up small dust
spots with my brief careful handling.  It led me to do a thorough
Adox Bluefire (crosspost)21 Oct 2003 18:42 GMT8
I posted similar information earlier in the rec.photo.film+labs newsgroup.
It is a commercial announcement that Adox Fotowerke, Inc. is now selling a
film-developer combination called Adox Bluefire. It is the film and
developer formerly sold by Bluefire Laboratories which has been ...

Darkrooms are not dodo birds21 Oct 2003 10:00 GMT39
I teach traditional photography at a high school that is considering
closing the lab in a few years. We also have students (90 per semester,
5 periods a day) scan negatives and output to 3000 printers using MIS
inks, but most of the semester is devoted to the wet process.
Ilford developers21 Oct 2003 04:02 GMT14
I've been looking into giving delta-100 a try as a hedge against Kodak
discontinuing film manufacture. I'm ready to start film testing before actual
use and have a a bottle of ilfotec dd-x and a bottle of ilfosol s. I've been
looking at the web site and the times given for delta-100 ...
