This is the first time I write to this newsgroup so I will thank in
advance any reply from You.
I am a novice in BW processing... well... I will be a novice in the next
weeks since I need to buy the minimum to develop BW films.
Kodak A B developer30 Oct 2003 22:02 GMT6
I have just heard that Kodak discontinued the A B developer used for
Litho film.  Any formulas out there.  I think D 76 can be used for the
A, but what about the B?  (Not sure about this.)
Thanks,
brown streaks on film30 Oct 2003 14:10 GMT3
In 1960 without a clue of what I was doing I developed BW films from a
trip. I used Kodak whatever, I think Verichrome Pan, and hand held a
Rollicord. Most are fine and I am printing them now. A few other rolls
(naturally the ones I have the most interest in) have brown streaks

Barry Thornton30 Oct 2003 00:21 GMT4
I was announced today that Barry Thornton, inventor of DiXactol and author
of 'Elements', 'Edge of Darkness' and 'Transitions' died over the weekend.
Clearly a UK photographer, I believe his books and lectures were popular in
the US too.
Ilford HP5+ in Microdol-X30 Oct 2003 00:05 GMT2
I notice that while Ilford gives development times for FP4+ in Microdol-X,
they don't even list that developer for HP5+, which I take to mean that
according to them it's "not recommended". (It is listed on the Humungous
Gigantic Colossal Really Really Big Developer Chart, at 11 ...

Update on processing Efke 100 sheet film29 Oct 2003 05:38 GMT17
Just wanted to update my results so far with this film. After the almost
totally non-productive earlier thread ("Thin negs with Efke 100 sheet film"),
I continued my experiments in the Nebenzahl GmbH laboratories.
I finally got a very decent set of prints from some negatives that ...
8x10 Camera -> enlarger conversion/add-on?29 Oct 2003 03:57 GMT10
Is there such an animal?
Contact prints alone will be great, but are there options in this arena?
TIA,

Borax + hydroxide = metaborate it's not28 Oct 2003 18:07 GMT66
I've done the following:
- In 40cc of cold water, added almost 60g of hydroxide, until I was quite
sure there was a saturated solution (water was cold - I mixed in a glass
cup inside of a cold water bath). By now I had some 60cc of saturated NaOH
Epoi Digitrol timer - Repair???28 Oct 2003 16:55 GMT6
I have a Epoi Digitrol timer that lights up but does not cycle. Checked for a
phone listing for Ehrenreich Photo-Optical company in and around Garden City
NY, but not luck. Also would it be worth it to get it fixed? Thanks, Dave
