This is the first time I write to this newsgroup so I will thank in advance any reply from You. I am a novice in BW processing... well... I will be a novice in the next weeks since I need to buy the minimum to develop BW films.

I have just heard that Kodak discontinued the A B developer used for Litho film. Any formulas out there. I think D 76 can be used for the A, but what about the B? (Not sure about this.) Thanks,

In 1960 without a clue of what I was doing I developed BW films from a trip. I used Kodak whatever, I think Verichrome Pan, and hand held a Rollicord. Most are fine and I am printing them now. A few other rolls (naturally the ones I have the most interest in) have brown streaks

I was announced today that Barry Thornton, inventor of DiXactol and author of 'Elements', 'Edge of Darkness' and 'Transitions' died over the weekend. Clearly a UK photographer, I believe his books and lectures were popular in the US too.

I notice that while Ilford gives development times for FP4+ in Microdol-X, they don't even list that developer for HP5+, which I take to mean that according to them it's "not recommended". (It is listed on the Humungous Gigantic Colossal Really Really Big Developer Chart, at 11 ...

I've done the following: - In 40cc of cold water, added almost 60g of hydroxide, until I was quite sure there was a saturated solution (water was cold - I mixed in a glass cup inside of a cold water bath). By now I had some 60cc of saturated NaOH

I have a Epoi Digitrol timer that lights up but does not cycle. Checked for a phone listing for Ehrenreich Photo-Optical company in and around Garden City NY, but not luck. Also would it be worth it to get it fixed? Thanks, Dave
