Question about developer dilution30 Aug 2003 21:26 GMT2
I would like to know what the effects are of developer dilution beyond the
obvious of longer development such as does it affect grain size? Does it
affect the action of the developer on the high or low values differently
than straight developer? In other words, anything of ...
Darkroom Plumbing, below grade29 Aug 2003 23:09 GMT4
I am being evicted from my current darkroom, and am building a new
darkroom in our basement to replace my current space.
All is going well, but I have a question regarding plumbing which I
was wondering if anybody could help me with:
Making bathroom door light tight?29 Aug 2003 19:15 GMT12
I am going to be using one bathroom in our condominium as a darkroom, so
I need to make the door light tight.  I'm sure I can improvise with what
I can find at my local hardware store, but I wonder if there are any
products made specifically for such purposes.  Or any clever ways ...
colorhead29 Aug 2003 14:33 GMT4
As far as I can observe, all consumer enlargers work in CYM. I built one which
works with three sources of light in RGB. My analyzer reads CYM. DOes anybody
have any idea on a simple way of equivalency?
Thank you,
Student looking for enlarger29 Aug 2003 10:49 GMT8
I am a high school senior looking for a black and white enlarger. I do
not have much money, but I really want an an enlarger as I belive that
black and white photography is my true passion. Over the past nine
months, I have developed over 250 rolls of film, but during only a few
Overexposition29 Aug 2003 07:17 GMT1
Hi, I've overexposed a Kodak HIE roll, at least 2 stop more. What time
of develop can I use compared with the right one used to develop a
well-exposed roll? I.e., if 9 min with ID-11 is OK for a roll for
which I've used 400 ISO of sensibility, what is the time you suggest
B&W Fixer in C-41 SRS Systems?29 Aug 2003 03:55 GMT1
Is it possible (well, smart, at least) to dump silver-saturated black
and white fixer into an SRS system designed for C-41? I work at a local
photo lab and I'd like to be environmentally conscious, too.

Pushing Agfa APX 100 with Rodinal29 Aug 2003 02:35 GMT3
would you recommend pushing APX100 with Rodinal, following the times given
at Digitaltruth
http://www.digitaltruth.com/chart/pages/pushproc.html
(increasing given developing time by a factor)

I'm interested in hearing from Kodak HC110 developer users. Likes, dislikes,
good qualities, bad qualities, from those who have used it or are using it.
All comments are welcome........well, almost all are! Thanks.

Jobo processing question29 Aug 2003 00:11 GMT2
I just started getting some dark spots on some of the ilfochrome prints I
make in my jobo cpa.   These spots look like they are drops that are
splashed on and probably from the solution(s) I use.  It doesn't happen all
the time and never in the past.  I have been printing ...
Setting Up Small Darkroom28 Aug 2003 09:19 GMT2
I'm in the process of setting up a small darkroom and I am not sure where I
should place things like safelights. I dont have much space. Here is a scale
drawing of the space I was hoping you could help me out. The ceilings are
7ft high. I have a small Durst 35mm enlarger and a ...
Excessive Grain27 Aug 2003 22:19 GMT14
I am having problems with too much grain in my B&W photos.  I think it is
caused by something I'm doing or not doing during film development.  I'm
using 35mm Ilford FP4+ at EI 125 and developing as follows:
D-76 1:1 at 68 degrees for 11 minutes (recommended time)
ID-11 stability27 Aug 2003 18:09 GMT4
I've read that the Stock solution made dissolving A and B components
of Ilford ID-11 developer in the appropriate amount of water can be
considered stable for 6 months in a fullfilled bottle. Is it true? Is
it better to use demineralized water to prepare it?
Stupid question # 400127 Aug 2003 16:53 GMT12
Has anyone ever tried those little italian Christmas lights as a darkroom
safelight? I seem to recall hearing you could make your own out of LEDs, but
are these little lights too bright for such activities? I know they are
incandescent, but are they dim enough to work. Maybe just ...
Any Durst 184 users here? questions about neg carriers and masks!27 Aug 2003 16:02 GMT3
