Getting Twisted Up With The D3!!08 Jan 2008 00:21 GMT4
What A Day!  Walking through the wet and muddy woods was almost twice
disastrous!  Climbing wet and slippery hillsides brought me to my knees
twice, but I was able to save the D3 and Formidable 500!  Talk about luck
and I'm not even Irish.

RITA, IS THIS YOU?06 Jan 2008 13:45 GMT4
While I was out shooting the sandhill cranes today I noticed this
eager Nikon shooter flaunting her big glass.

Gotta love the use of the pop-up flash while shooting telephoto!
Taking The D3 To The Woodshop!06 Jan 2008 04:04 GMT85
All be damned!  Even on a holiday you can always find professionals and
craftsmen working away.  I'm glad I had the old D3 to catch a craftsman in
action.  Using old world tools and techniques he can quickly shape a piece
of wood into a beautiful work of art.
STAREDOWN WITH THE 40D !06 Jan 2008 02:14 GMT46
Whenever the 40D goes out to shoot on a rainy day, it always
attracts some stares.

That is an actual size crop, BTW.
MY FIRST D3 PIC! (FOR RITA)05 Jan 2008 23:45 GMT4
Well Rita, you won.  I have moved over to the dark side.
Here is my first D3 pic ever.

The Amazing D3 Catches The Resurrection at ISO 6400!!!05 Jan 2008 14:55 GMT17
It's been a very exciting day!  I'm glad I had my trusty D3 with me.  Even
under Baltimore's harsh and poor lighting I was able to catch this biblical
event at ISO 6400.  Word on the streets is the D3 is the second coming of
Christ.  With this level or performance I believe it!
POWER OF INFRARED (PT.2)05 Jan 2008 03:27 GMT24
Went back up on the hill today to do a few more comparison shots.
It was much hazier today than yesterday, so much the better to test
out the power of the infrared.
Here are two comparison shots (cropped and resized):

Full Plate Daguerreotype Still Being Used!03 Jan 2008 23:22 GMT28
I thought this would be of interest to some who enjoy this really old
process of film and thought it was not in use anymore.

BEHOLD THE POWER OF INFRARED !03 Jan 2008 22:02 GMT44
Here's a rather boring shot I took off the mountain today.
http://www.pbase.com/bret/image/91112475/original
It is notable only because the mountains in the distance are usually
not visible and lost in the haze.  But today was a clear day.
