Ok, since some people have been kind enough to take the time to
post-process my crap photo from an 800x533 jpg file, I thought it
would be interesting to post the RAW file and the converted JPG
file 3504x2336 untouched to see what can be done in terms of

I took your kangaroo and offset the pixels a little to remove the hazy
look of it. As per your permission to do so. I also applied some
sharpening to demonstrate what I said in an earlier post.

Here's a couple of test shots I did today with strong backlighting and
fill flash provided by the 550EX (off camera) with the Gary Fong
Lightsphere.

Went to Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary last weekend.  Took lots of
photos, but wasn't particularly happy with most of them.  I
thought these were the picks of the bunch.

I found a Sima Soft Focus lens in an Olympus kit that I purchased
recently.  For those who are unfamiliar with this lens, it's nothing
more than a single element inside 2 hollow plastic tubes.
Focus is achieved by sliding one tube (and therefore the element)

.... then you probably aren't using Google Groups.
This week's issue with Google Groups is that only the first few posts
in each thread show up unless you choose to "Sort by Date."
With their money you'd think Google could get their act together.
