20D LOSES FOCUS! (300 f/4L IS Update)07 Mar 2007 14:21 GMT4

Got a wedding to do, love the idea of big aperture soft stuff.
I don't generally shoot weddings as a rule, but it's a close friend blah
blah blah.
I love macro work.... so I would get great use out of the lens in

ANNI RE-TESTS THE 300 F/4L IS !06 Mar 2007 07:54 GMT4
Not happy with the findings of my previous test, I did another test
today under more controlled conditions.  All shots were tripod mounted
using mirror lockup and a remote shutter release cable.  Focusing was
AF and was monitored using my Canon Right Angle "C" 2x viewfinder.
Pricing photographic services for functions?06 Mar 2007 06:56 GMT10
I've just been told about a 21st where some friends of friends want a
photographer to record events. It's a 4hr deal.
I'm wondering how I should structure my fee - as this would be the
first paid job I've done. I'm studying photog and have taken it
ANNI TESTS THE 300 f/4L IS !06 Mar 2007 06:31 GMT7
OK, sports fans, this weeks test involves the Canon 300 f/4L IS.
Specifically, I wanted to see how it would compare against the 400 f/
5.6L (which sadly lacks IS).  I did a series of shots with each lens
at the official TN Canon Testing Grounds (shot out of my bathroom

I'm bored this afternoon so I go over to the dam to try to get some
pics of the herons flying (they were very uncooperative). I'm also

Can someone give me a definitive answer about who's a dick and who's not on
this newsgroup? I keep reading about 2 people that are in a big pissing
contest and i have no idea why.
Both have minimal talent in anything but ego.

Hi Perthites, well no prior warning from me this time since I forgot about
it, and was woken by an SMS asking me what time I'd be getting there.
A quick wash and a few coffees before I slipped onto the freeway and made my
way in the door in time to snap up a MZ-S for a lowly $200 as ...

Towards the bottom of the article there's a mention of cheap, write-
once memory which is intended to be used for archival purposes. I
wonder if the capacity will be greater than today's typical CF
