I am looking for an entry level lens for taking surfing and boating shots. I have seen the Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM on Amazon for US$556 and was wondering anyones opinion on it. The cheapest I have found in Australia is A$950.

I have a date next week with a lady who I really care about. She's an experienced photographer and I feel self conscious about meeting her with my entry level DLSR. I was thinking of upgrading anyway so thought this would be as good a time as any.

Has someone some experience with the Op/Tech Pro camera strap? How good or bad is it when using it with a Bigma? Where there no problems with the connnectors when using heavy lenses? Thanks Ted.

Image wise, not very different at all. Certainly not enough to justify 300% and 400% more expense Or should that be in accountant-speak? Oh sh.t... Accountants don't work that way, do they? OK Three times and 4 times as much to but a DSLR. Hows that for the money men?
