I'm looking for a small digi camera like the Ixus800. But it should have approximately 4 optical zoom and manual focus if possible. I have expensive pro gear but I can't take it with me on my bike rides.

I plan to take detailed close-up pics of 100+ shoes. Can anyone suggest a good system of lighting up so the white balance and exposure of my macro shots remain consistent? Thanks in advance.

When I'm out snapping landscape pics people seem to like tooting me as they drive past. I'm nowhere near the road (nor is my car), and often I'm not even facing that direction. Are they being friendly or just trying to scare me? ;)
