microdrive.... still cameras and JVC31 Oct 2005 08:33 GMT2
microdrive pretty much fell on it's backside after flash mem became

first hand experience it is not worth repairing... if anybody is
prepared to look at it.
PFS: Considering selling my Nikon 80-400VR30 Oct 2005 21:36 GMT1
I'm in 2 minds about parting with my beloved 80-400VR.  As it turns out, I
have little use for it, taking mostly portraits these days.
I even went to the lengths of purchasing a Kirk NC80-400 lens collar - a
must if you want to be serious about your tripod work (see:

Best gloss paper IP 5200?30 Oct 2005 04:24 GMT1
Can anyone recommend a good source of quality gloss paper for my Canon
IP5200?
The paper supplied with the printer was excellent, but a bit pricey.
I prefer a bright rather than soft look. I am printing 6x9 size.
Cheap digital video cameras - what to watch out for30 Oct 2005 02:07 GMT8
This is unashamedly a newbie question; feel free to direct me somewhere
else if this is the "wrong" forum.
I notice that cheap video cameras are in the $600-$700 range

G'day mates,
I guess this is unlikely, but does anyone here have experience with
*both* the Pentax *ist DS (and/or DS2) AND the *ist DL?  If so, would
you care to comment on the comparison, please?

Sigma Lenses29 Oct 2005 11:26 GMT19
Anyone have any experience with getting sigma lens CPU's upgraded to sort
compatability problems?  My Sigma 17-35 HSM EX used to work fine on my EOS
50 but on my EOS 30 & EOS 350D it doesn't focus (although the focus
indicator beeps when focus is achieved while focusing manually) ...
Sticking a toe into the digital ocean29 Oct 2005 09:18 GMT11
Most of my limited experience with photography has been with a Nikomat
F of ancient vintage. This was stolen a few years ago along with all
the lenses , motor drive, tripod etc. Since then I've only used a
small, nasty el-cheapo digital camera that now has a scratched lens
Reducing noise29 Oct 2005 02:25 GMT8
Is "reducing noise" in a digital picture the same as "sharpen"?

Creating the safest electronic family album with which program?28 Oct 2005 10:22 GMT4
Maybe someone here would know or maybe suggest where I can ask this
question.
Would it be best to show photos and captions in a MS Word document and
archive the family album this way for future generations to easily access?
