I was sitting here bored & hot, so I went outside to cool down, nearly had
a heart attack when I ran into this little chap, then I thought why not
take his photo.

digital still/movie camera question23 Feb 2005 10:46 GMT4
Hi all, I haven't been following the latest happenings in the field of
digital cameras. But now the GF has expressed an interest in buying a
digital camera. Previously I'd read that the ccds in still digital
cameras that had movie capability, weren't optimal for still photography ...

online print sales23 Feb 2005 03:56 GMT8
does anyone know of online ordering or printing sites in australia that
are comparable to printroom.com or smugmug in the USA?
do most of you just ask for emails regarding purchasing prints or do
you have another system of selling prints to people online?
Which long lens for Nikon D70?22 Feb 2005 22:50 GMT10
I bought a Nikon D70 last Friday and I'm really happy with it. It looks like
we'll be needing a longer lens and I was wondering what my options are.
I think I'd like up to a 300mm lens because I think that 450mm 35mm equivalent
will be adequate for my purposes.

lost images on compactfash cards21 Feb 2005 08:49 GMT12
I recently lost all of my photos off my (3) lexar compactflash cards and
all of my songs off my ipod.  I was flying back from Mexico to O'hare
airport on 2/16/05 and while still in the air was able to view images on
all three compactflash cards.  When I arrived home was unable to ...
Manfrotto DIGI tripods21 Feb 2005 07:28 GMT5
So for this upcoming trip, I'll need a travel tripod too - the Manfrotto 055
is just too big (60 cm or so folded) and too heavey at about 2.2kg. The
Manfrotto Digi tripods look interesting, such as 714SHB which is 35cm
collapsed, and less than half the weight at 1.0kg.
Best prices for Canon glass in Melb, or Oz mail order?21 Feb 2005 04:58 GMT11
Now that Dirt Cheap has closed down, where are other Melbournites going
for good prices on Canon lenses?
I'm keen to buy a 50mm/F1.4 & a 85mm/F1.2L or 85mm/F1.8, but I *really*
don't want to pay retail, or buy from OS.
