OT: Handycam comparison sites24 Nov 2004 20:12 GMT3
I am wanting to buy a video camera (<au$1500), but there is a huge range
out there. Does anyone know of any good side-by-side comparison sites,
or got any recommendations.

Cheap Sandisk Ultra II 512M CF & SD24 Nov 2004 05:39 GMT15
Harvey Norman are selling Sandisk Ultra II 512M CF & SD for only $99,
which is about $25-$40 cheaper than I've seen before(Red, black & gold
in colour).  (these are 60x write & 66x read speed)
You also get a USB2 card reader with each 512M card.
Pentax *istDS and Sigma 18-125 lens23 Nov 2004 09:50 GMT4
Seems like a good price around $1400, is this lens any good? Will
eventaully get other lens, probably primes, but initially just one to
get me started.
Is it better to go the extra and get the  pentax 16-45 which seems to
Paint Shop Pro 8 auto enhance feature?23 Nov 2004 02:44 GMT1
I've been playing about with Paint Shop Pro 8's auto
enhancement features.....in particular the 'one step photo fix'.  I'm just
curious to know how this is assessing what to 'fix' when it runs.  I've used
it on several images with some *very* mixed results.  Some ...

Anyone knows about these latest versions of X-Drive VP6210 & VP6300? It

So far I only know that VP6210 uses the normal laptop 2.5' HDD and
Printer for events22 Nov 2004 12:09 GMT16
I was wondering if anyone is using a printer to print photos at events to
sell on the day.  I was debating whether to take my inkjet but I think it
would be too slow and expensive.  I did an event today where I took nearly
200 shots, I will have to sell these off contact sheets and ...
Neutral Density filter question 22 Nov 2004 10:33 GMT13
Hi, probably dumb question.  With ND filters, do they reduce bright
lights by the same percentage as week/dim lights?  I'm wondering if
there is such a thing as a filter that reduce brighter spots much more
than shadowy areas.
Transfer of 8mm Movies to CD/DVD22 Nov 2004 08:08 GMT8
Some old family 8mm and Super 8 movies have come into my possession, and I'd
like to transfer them to digital CD or DVD
I have seen a few companies on the net offering these services, but when I
see what this may cost me, I'd as soon as like to try and get the equipment
Uniform sizing of images?22 Nov 2004 04:59 GMT1
I have a number of images (of shells, specifically) that were
shot at different focal lengths and I'd like to be able to make a set of
these in one of those triple frames.  Is there an 'easy' (and accurate) way
of cropping these so that the content is correctly ...

to buy one of them is in Australia. I've seen them for about $1577 at
www.dirtcheapcameras.com.au including postage.
Can anyone help?
Using polarising lens22 Nov 2004 02:33 GMT10
I'm new to using a polarising lens. Have just got one for my Canon PS pro 1. It's a
Hoya 58mm which you are able to spin freely. Are there any tips to using these things
correctly. ie I'm not sure I can clearly perceive the effect using the EVF/LCD.
