Hey, can somebody tell me what contrast index means, in the context of lcd
tft monitors?  Is a high ratio better or worse?  Eg. is 400:1 better or
worse than 800:1?

I'm wondering whether I can cram more dynamic range into a scenic shot
(with a lot of sky) by using a CP. If I understand correctly the most
noticeable effect of adding a CP is that the sky will be a darker and
a more saturated blue.

My lovely Pentax camera has got a new Tamron 28-200 lens just for $199 at
G&V Imaging:) They've got absolutely bargain prices for old Tamron models
for Minolta and Nikon as well.
They do not have much info about that at their website

Have 2 x D30 plus a D60 that need shutters replaced.
Any suggestions who could do this in Sydney (or anywhere in Aus) without
having to go to Canon Australia?

Im looking for a good source that can print poster or similar size prints.
Whats the normal practice and image type most places wish to have. What size
does the picture need to be taken in to print to poster (a3? or larger) RAW?

Any thoughts on the pros and cons of these two?  Read some bad press on the
Canon autofocus in low light but generally favourable comments on the image
stabiliser performance.  Fuji has a reasonbly priced wide angle lens.

Please dont flame me, I decided to upgrade from an older Mavica to something
that can actually take photos.
A friend bought one of these and gets marvellous results, but I tried on day
1 and my photos were awful. Grainy and unclear.

Does anybody know where you can get the Canon EOS0300D WITHOUT the 18-55
lens? I don't plan on using it and would rather spend the extra $100 or
so on a larger CF card.
