I've been having lots of fun shooting infrared with my infrared-
converted Totally Digital D60.
So I figured I'd try out a real infrared filter on the Fabulous 5D2.
I got on EBAY and ordered a cheapo Hoya R72 equivalent from a shop in

This was a fairly difficult mandate, in view of the "We don't want no clichés"
restriction we were asked to obey. Given that, this is a surprisingly good set
of pictures. Herewithal my usual uncensored comments, unencumbered by
politeness or other civilities.

here's my impressions.
(PS it got long & I ran out of time to edit perfectly <g>)

Here are my thoughts on this month's SI, as usual there are some great
shots.
road.jpg: A cracker to start with, the strong lighting and harsh shadows as
well as the pure sky, the composition and the detail in the rocks take this

A friend is going to shoot a wedding for his buddy and asked me (an
experienced photographer, but not weddings) about how many images did I
think he should shoot "to be sure he got everything". He says he doesn't
know when to quit shooting and "start to enjoy myself".

What else can I say when the old 500/4 goes nautical?  Nothing like taking
the old D3 and 500/4 out boating.
