How many of you take a photo every day?08 Jun 2007 03:35 GMT9
Nothing new in "photo of the day" except how many of you actually take a
photo every day?
Well for what it's worth I decided to publish my Photo of the day, at least
weekly but I'll try daily for a while. The Bullies who thrive on the

Today it a  - RED -  photo of the day!05 Jun 2007 23:04 GMT6
Probably the most difficult colour for digital camera sensors to reproduce.
Particularly when photographing a plant. The colour emitted by plants
contains a lot of the infra red spectrum.
Anyway... My Red. http://www.ryadia.com/POD/June/4-06-07.htm
Please enhance my knowledge of dof scales05 Jun 2007 23:04 GMT9
Trying to understand the theory behind the dof scales of my Nikon
lenses I wonder what the distance between two f-stop marks stands for.
I read in Merklingers " The Ins and Outs of FOCUS" that the dof scale
is a ruler tha measures distances in the unit of the max allowable

To have photo money start rolling in, there's no need to be Ansel
Adams. You just need to be competent. The mere fact that you've
considered starting a photography career - and you have, or you
wouldn't be reading this - says that you more than likely have all the
The kooks have nearly won.05 Jun 2007 07:31 GMT5
Thanks to Lionel Lauer -An Australian Network administrator. Who first cross
posted a reply to a message in this group to alt.kooks and started the
plethora of rubbish clogging the group, he has almost managed to destroy the
group by driving away those with valid contributions ...

For those, like me, who like -odd- images, I have come
across a site that collects the stuff, vast quantities
of the stuff.  A few samples:

In a quandry!04 Jun 2007 20:08 GMT5
I have over the last few months built up an eos kit, consisting of an Eos 3,
Canon 24-105L IS lens, sigma 17-35 lens, sigma 135-400 lens and canon 70-200
f/4. As my kit has increased so has my film use! On a recent 1 week holiday

THE 20D JUST LOVES CATS!04 Jun 2007 06:56 GMT4
Out in the woods one day and I came across this monster. 15 quick shots in
rapid succession with a 600mm macro lens. Man was I packing it when the
thing pounced! Must be one of D-Mac's Cat-a-strophic retaliations!
Let's see your #Ds Mk #### take great shots like this.

Bad Day!04 Jun 2007 05:49 GMT5
Plunked down $350 for new flash last week. First chance to try it out
today, and I think it's defective.
Won't switch from auto-zoom to manual-zoom and back; doesn't detect the
focal length (which the camera IS detecting), won't respond to the sync
