Grrr... lens misery28 Feb 2007 01:12 GMT6
Irritated with my ability to take pictures with my digital camera in the
way I used to with my Praktica, I got the old SLR out and tried to make
some repairs.
I stripped and cleaned the 50mm prime lens, but now, for some reason,

Pentax ZX/MZ 10 problem27 Feb 2007 09:26 GMT4
I just bought a Pentax ZX/MZ 10. While I was experimenting with it
with no film in it, I pressed the button all the way down. After that,
it made some motor noises and the viewfinder went black and now no
matter what control I try to adjust, it just makes a motor noize and
Machine Gunning the EOS-1D Mark III27 Feb 2007 06:31 GMT6
I must admit this thing sounds so sweet blasting off 10 fps!  The sound
alone makes you want to go out and buy one for the sole purpose listening to
the shutter while blasting off 10,000 shots per event.  With such a
beautiful sound like this who cares if you get a single keeper out ...
How to find good black and white photo subjects?27 Feb 2007 03:43 GMT38
I hope this is the right place to post this, I'm new to navigating on
googles groups as well and if this is the wrong place...oops.  :x  My
apologies.
I'm in my first photography class and learning how to take pictures
Swimming against the tide - digital to film27 Feb 2007 03:31 GMT6
Does anyone make an affordable film recorder in this day and age?
Affordable being defined as costing no more than a Nikon D-80 or that
new Canon Rebel digital.
I'd like to be able to take my best digital images and record them as

Canon 50mm f/1.2L ... Final Thoughts25 Feb 2007 11:07 GMT95
Well, after a week with this fine piece of glass I reluctantly handed
the package back to the mailman today for it's return voyage to
www.rentglass.com.  Rentglass.com is a great outfit, BTW.  They send
the lenses promptly and include everything needed for return

Ping "TheDave©" - Zigview update?24 Feb 2007 20:44 GMT1
Mostly just curious, but I'm contemplating the S2.
Any update to your Zigview review?
Did it wind up setting on the shelf?

Mini test of 80-85mm Nikkor lenses (+ one Zeiss)24 Feb 2007 09:53 GMT16
I made a very small test of various 80-85mm Nikkor lenses to see if there
are any obvious differences.
The 85/2.0 has got a bad and the 85/1.4 AFD a very good reputation. Wanted
to see if this showed up in
Sigma 10-20 on a 35mm camera?24 Feb 2007 09:46 GMT5
Does anyone have experience using the Sigma 10-20mm lens on a 35 mm
camera?
I understand that vignetting occurs when this lens is used on a full-
frame camera, but how bad is it? At what zoom does the vignetting
