For those of you with glasses or declining eyesight...31 Dec 2006 14:10 GMT15
...do you keep your glasses on (I can't and won't do contact lenses)
when looking through the viewfinder, or do you depend on the in-camera
adjustments for eyesight that many newer cameras have?
I usually take my glasses off, but as I get older it's getting harder
Minolta MC/MD lens use with Sony A10031 Dec 2006 03:58 GMT2
I have some old MC and MD lenses, and there appears to be an adapter
available for using them on a Sony A100 digital body.  Anyone here
using them that way?  I considered selling them on ebay, but found
they would fetch almost nothing!  I've been thinking about switching
"Fixing" distortion?30 Dec 2006 13:55 GMT11
I recently bought a 15mm full-frame fisheye, mainly for fun and
amusement, but it could be used for some serious wide-angles, also.  I
have had thoughts about buying Canon's 24mm tilt-shift lens... someday.
I remember Bret rented one and decided it wasn't worth buying one.

It isn't a faked photo.  It was shot with the 400 f/5.6L from the
bottom of the mountain.
N.Y. Times claims it's all over for Canon and Nikon!29 Dec 2006 14:31 GMT10
The Times today had a full page add claiming, "If you want clear pictures
you don't want a Canon or Nikon."  They also claim that only 20% of Canon
and Nikon lenses have IS/VR.  They also claim that the Sony A100 is the only
camera to give clear sharp images with all their lenses ...

Small SLR for travel27 Dec 2006 08:28 GMT32
I've been through a lot of the posts and still have some questions.  My
wife and I have two point and shoots that we bring with us when we
travel - an Olympus and a Yashica.  It's the old problem of wanting
more in a camera but not wanting much more in size.  We can fit these
Canon F1 users26 Dec 2006 22:59 GMT2
Am I correct in assuming this film cassette is for the Canon F1??

EVEN THE CUTE ONES LOVE SOMEONE ELSE'S 10D!26 Dec 2006 18:50 GMT2
Spent the day yesterday at the zoo, having a wonderful time. Pretty
quiet there, so plenty of the animals were, naturally, being photogenic.
While I may put up an entire gallery a little later on, here's a
holiday greeting from one of the new additions.
portraiture question26 Dec 2006 14:37 GMT22
This is probably a stupid question, and I think I know the answer, but
I have to ask.
I have a desire to do some senior pictures of my son.  Problem is, I am
not into portrature at all, other than some posed and candid outside
For some people film makes more sense26 Dec 2006 10:02 GMT64
had a lady come in wanting to print some photos yesterday. Her card went
into one of the consoles and came up with no photos found. I had a
closer look and found that all the photos were .raw not .jpg, and the
consoles can't handle raw format. She had no idea what raw was and no

HAVE YOU BEEN NAUGHTY OR NICE ???24 Dec 2006 20:47 GMT17
Hard to believe that the Holiday Season is already upon us and
Christmas is only (YIKES!) 10 days away.  Have you been naughty or nice
this year?  And what do you hope will be under your tree?
Mr. Divs knows that it's never too late to try to influence Santa:
