What is the smallest/cheapest/oldest Nikon film body for G lenses with
no aperture ring? I could live without AF/AF-S function. I wouldn't want
to spend a lot, the idea is to play around with my lenses on full
format, maybe find something on ebay or KEH with a 50mm/1.8 for a

I have a Nikon F4 which doesn't load film: when I put in a roll, close
the back cover and press the shutter release button, the shutter fires,
but the spool does not rotate and the alert LED starts blinking. I have
changed batteries and cleaned (with due care) all visible contacts,

Some 20 + years ago (1985?)I bought a black Ricoh SLR. At that time  it
was new, but discontinued and was the last one on the shelf of the
camera shop. Two weeks later it was stolen. I think I'd like to get it
back!  (well get one just like it anyways <g>)
