Have you ever purposely used vignetting to your advantage?26 Oct 2006 02:48 GMT2
Was playing around and put three filters on my 20-35mm, set it at 20mm,
and did a couple shots trying to get something like a keyhole effect.
The film is in being developed, but I'm curious if it'll end up looking
like what I imagine.

The yogurt was great, but the vodka sucked. Yes fans I am back and
please say that you are glad that the king is alive and well. I have
been going through the stacks of mail that have been awaiting my
return. The best piece yet was the signed photo of GW and Laura

Hi, I have a Canon G3 digital camera, which I've had for a number of years
although it hasn't seen much action.  I was disappointed with the shutter
lag and due to this in three years it's taken under 700 shots.  I recently
purchased a Sony Cybershot DSC P100 and the difference in ...

Which came first?23 Oct 2006 16:11 GMT12
For those of you who combine photography with other hobbies or
interests, which came first?  For example...
I hiked before I got into photography, and now I can combine the two,
which is a natural fit.
Question About Film Scanning Resolution23 Oct 2006 05:11 GMT31
I recently purchased a film scanner (Pacific Image PF3650Pro3) which has a
maximum "Optical Resolution" of 3600 ppi.
When I scan at that resolution I end up with image files whose property
sheets say that they are 5148 x 3420.  I would like to know how it is that I
Hoya HMC CP filter22 Oct 2006 01:21 GMT2
Good day! I have just started photography as my hobby. I recently
bought Canon Rebel XTI. I used Hoya UV filters on both my wide angle
and telephoto lenses. However, I still get pictures with reflections (
in shooting  through glass windows or water reflections) even if I use
Value (and values) 35mm21 Oct 2006 23:31 GMT92
A few days ago I wandered into the local Salvation Army store looking for
some cheap jeans to wear while doing yard work.  I happened to see an 35mm
SLR in the counter case and asked to see it.  Turns out it was a Chinon CM-7
with a SMC Pentax-M 50mm 1.7 lens mounted.  I ...

Hi Bill:
A simple question to ask you and/or any of the other pros on this NG.
Sorry if it's too boring.  Anyways, I have a ton of slides taken years
ago that I want put on a CD.  How do I go about doing this?  There are

L bracket options?19 Oct 2006 00:43 GMT7
I'm interested in getting an L bracket for my Canon 10D.  I've seen the
one from Really Right Stuff, and another maker whose names escapes me
at the moment, but I have two concerns...
The first is price... it's not like these are precision Space Shuttle
Advice on lens selection18 Oct 2006 19:14 GMT7
I am relatively new to photography and have recently purchased a
Nikon D70s with the Nikkor 18-70mm lens. I would like to add another
lens or two. I am interested in photographing birds and animals. Being
in a city, most of my photographs will be taken at or near the various
