Hi there. This might be the wrong group but it seems like a very good
place to start. I'm a beginner planning to buy an SLR camera in the
next few weeks as I'm going to Canada in September - some of the most
beautiful scenery on the planet. I'd like some advice about the best

Leica SL2 Shutter Woes23 Aug 2006 08:01 GMT11
I recently took some pictures with my Leica SL2 and many of the shots taken
at 1/500, 1/1000 and 1/2000 were badly under exposed on one side of the
frame some were completely blank. Slower speeds seem to be fine. Technically
what's the problem with the shutter? Can it be fixed. It ...

Ken, can you e-mail me at annika1980ATaol.com?
I just watched that documentary on James Nachtwey ("War Photographer")

Nikon F Photomic question23 Aug 2006 04:40 GMT11
I've owned this F Photomic since 1969 (!) and it's held up very well
until recently.  My son used the camera and since then this situation
has arised:
Viewing through the finder is normal, but when you wind the film, the
THE TALE OF THE TRAVELING NIKON23 Aug 2006 03:16 GMT102
Once upon a time a lady found a digital camera on a downtown park
bench.  She happened to work in my office and since she knew nothing
about cameras asked me if it was any good or worth keeping.  Sadly, it
was a Nikon Coolpix 4100, a 4MP piece of junk hardly worth saving.  The
Duplicating 1950s era stereo slides??23 Aug 2006 03:10 GMT7
I would like to have duplicated some slides taken with a Stereo Realist
camera about 50 years ago.  They belonged to my uncle and have extreme
sentimental value.  They are also in great shape, with no apparent
fading or other problems.

Cheap22 Aug 2006 01:45 GMT4
Bought a Canon Sppedlite 430EX today.  Very nice flash,  Works well,
yada yada yada.  But, would it really have broke the company to put a
loop of some sort on the case so I could have the option of attaching
it to a camera bag strap, or something?
