A sad day at the dump31 Aug 2006 20:32 GMT18
I went to the local landfill today with household junk and branch
trimmings. As I was pulling things off the back of the truck, I noticed
a small black case on the ground a few feet away.
I'm a curious sort, so walked over and picked it up.
Minolta XD731 Aug 2006 17:43 GMT2
I recently repaired my Minolta XD7 (my first SLR). I had the film
chamber foam replaced, the baseplate screwed back on (one side fell off
one day 4 years ago), and general CLA done. It now works fine,
mechanically at least. Strange how emotionally attached one can get to

Can You Clean Nikon F Viewfinder?30 Aug 2006 11:59 GMT22
I never realized exactly how far cameras had come until I started to do
some long-needed maintenance on an inherited Nikon F.  I was able to
clean most of the lens mechanism, but the viewfinder is so clogged, I
don't know how I'll focus.  Can professional camera shops dismantle the
Manual for enlarger Krokus 66 color SL?29 Aug 2006 20:55 GMT2
Where can I get a copy of the manual for the enlarger Krokus 66 color
SL?
I prefer a english manual, but could be written in swedish as well.

slides; worth reverting to 35mm over digital?29 Aug 2006 04:02 GMT6
Dear Group,
I'm a student in sculpture.  Mostly friends pose for me, but
favors would run short after the first 20 hrs of posing :-)  A
sculpture takes a lot of time...  Models are prohibitively expensive.

35mm film, how much longer?27 Aug 2006 09:08 GMT63
I have a D70s digital SLR, but recently I'm finding an attraction to going
back to film.  I'd like some professional estimations on how long 35mm film
will still be available, and used in the U.S.  Not necessarily main stream,
but still fairly common?

tamron 90mm macro25 Aug 2006 11:35 GMT2
Legendary lens, but which one is best, the latest, 90mm f2.8 SP, or
older 90mm f2.5?  I intend to use it for both macro and portrait,
though primarily macro.

New Nikon AF-S Series, Plastic Lens Elements?25 Aug 2006 05:39 GMT7
Most all the newer Nikon "AF-S" series lenses I've handled seem to be very
light.  Are the lens elements themselves being manufactured out of plastic,
or just the barrels?
Thanks,
Nikon Service in S.E. Michigan area?24 Aug 2006 14:40 GMT2
Does anyone know of a good service center for Nikon in the S.E. Michigan
area?  I have a zoom that I'd like to have cleaned, and lubricated.
Thanks,
Bill
