The now famous and soon to be immortalized king of freeze

Digital is Dumb05 Jul 2006 23:30 GMT158
I just bought my wife a new film SLR, so this may seem a bit
self serving, but...
We are photographic dinosaurs. Of the three cameras I use
most frequently the panorama has no meter, my 35 is a rangefinder
Using Polarizing Filter With Skylight Filter05 Jul 2006 16:27 GMT62
I just picked up a Hoya 49mm circular polarizer. The question I pose to you
is this, I use Hoya Skylight 1B filters on my 55mm and 135mm lenses. I've
read that with wide angle lenses you shouldn't use additional filters with

Rollei print questions04 Jul 2006 19:43 GMT1
I'm a 99% 35mm semi-pro but have gotten some nice shots with my mom's old
Rollei 3.5.  I have a few questions:
Is there a good mail order lab to make enlargements on the East Coast?  I've
seen "A and I" recommended, but they're in California.
minolta x570 problem04 Jul 2006 18:26 GMT2

I was recently given one of these as a gift (long story) and it looks

My question is about these filters:

My Arca-Swiss b1 ball head (bought new in Dec 2002) has recently
started misbehaving.
The ball no longer frees properly unless I push down hard on the quick
release clamp.

Help, I need a battery pack, quick.03 Jul 2006 14:25 GMT4
I have an Ikelite substrobe 100a and a Nikonos V. On my last dive the
battery pack for the substrobe *#%! out on me.  I'm heading to Truk
lagoon in August and the battery pack is no longer available. Can
anyone suggest where I might locate one. I looked on the web, went to
