Photo objectives for the summer17 Jun 2006 21:17 GMT24
I've had a miserable time of late doing _any_ photography.  Other than a
couple must-do studio shoots, it looks like my upcoming vacation will be
the limit of my photography opportunities for this summer.
Do you have any specific objectives for this summer?
getting film out of case17 Jun 2006 20:34 GMT25
I have an unused 35 mm roll of film which my camera swallowed back into
its case.  Is there any way to get the film lead out.  Is there a trick
to opening the case in total darkness, pulling out the film, and
closing the case?
Using hotshoe flash with 135mm lens17 Jun 2006 19:20 GMT4
Hi, I just picked up a takumar 135mm lens the other day, and I was wondering
if anyone could give me some advice.
The red X on the shutter speed dial is at 1/60 so from what I gather I
shouldn't go above that speed with the flash, but with the 135mm lens

A question for Canon FD users17 Jun 2006 04:53 GMT10
There are probably several folks in this NG who still
use Canon FD equipment. I got started on the FD system
waaay back when I purchased a Canon FTb. Since then,
I've acquired some A1s, AE1s and T90s. The T90s are wonderful
[SI} Shoot-In: Now's the time to do something about it...16 Jun 2006 17:59 GMT5
Hi gang, running later tonight but hey,it's still Friday here (and
improv comedy just wouldn't wait).
So we turn to the man with the plan, who tells it like it is, a voice
of wisdom in the dark, you know him and love him as Walter Banks, who has

Looks like the digital M (M8) is expected fairly soon and at an
anticipated $5k.
Aperture indication in Contax camera with Yashica lens 24mm/2.815 Jun 2006 23:21 GMT3
I just bought a 24mm/2.8 Yashica lens and put on my RTSII
Contax camera.
Although the maximum aperture of the lens is 2.8, in the
viewfinder is indicated the aperture 1.4

Portra 160VC: poor scans?15 Jun 2006 15:38 GMT32
I have tried everything to get a decent scan out of this film using my
Konica-Minolta Dimage ScanDual IV, but it just doesn't seem to want to
play nice. Scans look really flat and devoid of contrast or fine detail.
Is this film known for this or is it just my lack of technique ...
Autofocus of Canon EOS stopped working15 Jun 2006 14:17 GMT3
hi....
my canon eos 88 (eos 3000) has stopped working on the AutoFocus. when
selected to autofocus it moves the lens much slower than it did earlier
and also does not focus sharply on the subject.
Battery life with 18-200MM VR and D7015 Jun 2006 11:56 GMT5
Just a little 'report'.  I shot about 350 images over a 3 day
period, almost all of them  with VR turned on, and the battery
indicator on the D70 never came off of full.
That's pretty cool and far better than I expected.
