time of day for your shooting20 May 2006 17:00 GMT3
Question: do you see more quality shots using color film if you shoot
early and late in the day versus mid afternoon.
I exclusively try to limit my shooting to times when the sunlight is
warm and colorful. I've lost too many good compositions because of the
[SI] Shootin 20 May 2006 15:29 GMT3
How come the Shoot-in is limited to this group? Wouldn't it have broader
appeal and/or audience if notices and discussions were xposted to r.p.d.?
yeah, I am aware I haven't been a participant - at least a poster to it-
as of this writing. ....

Do anybody know a store in Miami selling this  Canon lens  EF 85mm f/1.2 L

I searched on the Canon's site but there are too many stores listed and no
guarantee to find it!
Why Equipment Matters20 May 2006 02:12 GMT40

That's an uncropped shot which has been reduced in size.

My 1st photographic article published19 May 2006 23:04 GMT22
http://www.pixmag.co.za/html/photo_pro.html
It was great to see my article and photos published in this country's
leading Photographic magazine, but the editors really went to town and
trimmed my 4600 word article down to about 2000. It still took up a full

Okay, am I the only one who's been having a ridiculous amount of
trouble connecting to a news server through Roadrunner?

revealed in all its glory. Some dude came down from a mountain with a
New Lens for Pentax ZX-5n??19 May 2006 18:35 GMT5
The Pentax 28-105 on my ZX-5n got banged by an
errant child. Seems to work OK, except the results
have gotten darker, less bright, then they used to be.
Could this be a damaged lens?
[SI] Shoot-In - Repeating Shapes - Mardon's Comments19 May 2006 15:36 GMT15
I was hoping if I waited a couple of days before posting some
comments on the "Repeating Shapes" SI, someone else might post
first.  I still think that much of the fun of the SI is to read how
other people react to the photos.  I wish more people would submit

Can someone tell me if the Flashpac 7000 supports RAW files? I'd also like
to know the pros and cons of this storage device.

Price of film cameras16 May 2006 00:14 GMT8
I just got back from our local flea market. I purchased a Canon "Elf-II" APS
camera there for my wife. It was only $12, in the box, brand new. She put a
battery in it, and it works OK. (We haven't got the pictures back, but it
seems to work.) She likes the APS format, and has had ...

I got one of these yesterday and it certainly seems like a very well
made head. Can anyone testify to its performance in the field?

Image Stabilization question on Canon with tripod15 May 2006 01:52 GMT2
I recently purchased a Canon 70-300mm IS USM lens. In all the
literature it states that the Image Stabilization is 'automatically'
turned off when the camera+lens is mounted on a tripod. My question is,
how does the lens know it is mounted on a tripod? Is it something to do
