A friend of mine has several old screw mount Pentax lenses.  He wants to get

The consensus is that using a Linear PL on classic TTL SLRs ( an MX in
my case) fools the meter, while a Circular PL does not.
I would appreciate if someone could explain  what is the metering error
in f/stops in practice, and if the error difference between the two

Is there a general rule for which zoom lens you would use when there's
an overlap?
For example, let's say you have a 20-35mm zoom, and a 28-105mm zoom,

the other day, armed with only my discontinued Canon 20D and the 17-40
