[SI] Commentary25 Mar 2006 15:29 GMT28
OK, my turn to trash the submissions. However, since I couldn't spot a good
composition in the Louvre, I'll refrain from making artistic commentary, and
focus on the subject matter, and anything else I like or dislike about the
photo.
Inkjet print size question24 Mar 2006 16:36 GMT3
I have an Epson r1800 that's turining out great prints.  So far, I've just
used 8.5 x 11 inch paper.  The prints, when scaled to the media, are 7.218
by 10.47 inches.  Does someone make ready-made mounts for that actual image
size?

Pop. Mechanics Apr. 2006 Disk Rot24 Mar 2006 00:42 GMT34
On page 22 of the Apr. 2006 Popular Mechanics, there is a short article
about disk rot according to an IBM expert in Germany.  He said that CD-R's
will degrade due to the heat sensitive dye that changes when they are
burned.  He said that "unburned" disks will last 5 to 10 years but ...

Circular polarizer23 Mar 2006 23:08 GMT11
I recently acquired a "OEC" circular polarizer and have a question:
Checking it out by seeing how it handles reflections on smooth wood, I found
that it darkens them OK, but also leaves them purple. Is this colorshift
normal? I seem to recall that way back when there was only the ...
Pentax ME Super Fresnel Lens......23 Mar 2006 20:51 GMT5
Can you change the Fresnel lens on a Pentax Me  Super
Slr Camera. I repaired the lockup mirror problem
that you have with these bodies by carefully removing
the aged foam and cleaning where the foam tape was.

Lens compatability23 Mar 2006 04:58 GMT9
I'm looking to buy a cheap Fisheye Lens that will give my pictures a lo

first additional lens I'll be buying, to add to the 50mm wide angle an
200mm telephoto lenses I already have.

Kodak Pro Back 16MP?22 Mar 2006 23:24 GMT3
How are these old backs compared to a modern DSLR (e.g. Nikon D200, Canon 5D
etc).
I have the oppotunity to buy a Hassy ELD 555 with a 16MP kodak back. Don't
know if I should or

Returning to the Film Fold22 Mar 2006 04:05 GMT5
Took out my old Mamiya-Secor DTL and Canon A-1.  Ran a roll of film
through each, both still work great, but each could use new light seals
and a good CLA.
Local shops (Buffalo, NY) want $120-$150 for that.  Is that the going
Using flash meter as Enlarger meter21 Mar 2006 19:36 GMT9
I just heard about this today and was wondering if anyone can give in
simple terms how to go about doing that.
I get the impression that one can meter on a certain part of the
enlargement from the enlarger and get a reading that tells you how long to
