where to process my 35mm film in N. Virginia/Fairfax?28 Mar 2006 04:36 GMT13
It's been a few years since I last used my Contax 35mm film camera.  One day
I took the camera out and shot a 24exp roll in one hour.
Was expecting that my good old camera will give the excitement again but I
was so disappointed.

While in the heat of discussing the technical merits different gear
someone will often point out that it is the image that really matters
and we tend to lose sight of this.
To this end I thought I would start a thread on peoples views on what

Equipment rental in/near Wilmington/Philladelphia27 Mar 2006 17:12 GMT2
I'm looking for a place that rents Canon L glass.  Want to try a 70-200 f/2.8L IS USM for a weekend before I sell other lenses to make room for it.
Thanks
Konica Impresa 5027 Mar 2006 10:47 GMT5
Does anyone know of any source of this film in any size?  Konica-Minolta
keeps claiming that it isn't discontinued, but it's impossible to find.  Do
any of the other Konica-Minolta films resemble Impresa?
Thanks you
Lense history question?27 Mar 2006 10:27 GMT132
When was the advent of AF lenses?  I'm most curious about Canon's, but
also wondering about AF systems in general.
Thanks

Waterproof Cameras27 Mar 2006 01:03 GMT6
I am going on a cruise at the end of april and need to be able to take
pictures underwater.   I don't have any existing 35mm cameras, just a point
and shoot Canon S400 digital camera, for which I can buy a waterproof case
for $160.  However, that seems somewhat wasteful as the ...

scanner recomendation26 Mar 2006 17:18 GMT10
I was thinking of getting the HP 4890 scanner for all-round use... it does
larger slides as well and I have some 2 1/4 I would like to scan as well as 35.
The spec says it will do 16 - 35mm slides at once.
Anyone have experience with this one?  How about the software dust removal ...
IS & tripods26 Mar 2006 15:01 GMT3
More of a random thought than anything else, but then I wondered, what
if...
You're told by the manual to turn IS off when using a tripod, but what
if you're using a tripod on a windy day?

Testing for back focus25 Mar 2006 22:07 GMT18
In another group someone raised the spectre their camera may have an error
in its auto focus.
I slapped together this page to help make a few tests to see if its the lens
or the camera responsible for it. Then the thought occurred to me that it

Developing 1600 speed film?25 Mar 2006 16:09 GMT4
I just talked with a guy who thought there might be problems with
developing 1600 speed film at the usual retail minilabs, and he said that
some places even charge more for it.  But I thought if it said C-41 on the
can (and it did), then it should be able to go through the same ...
