Just wondering if there is a fix to this problem? I have tried the aperature lever in several positions to see if this help. Nothing. I cannot see the iris closing at all, no matter whihc lever I push. Any ideaS?

I use a Canon 70-200mm f/2.8 IS USM lens with a 1.4x Converter on a 20D. At full zoom of 280mm, I have to shoot at 1/500 of a second to reliably get sharp shots. At 1/250 I get an occasional sharp shot but most exhibit camera movement. At 1/125 it's pretty much useless.

I remember many moons ago that someone was talking about a cartridge that would convert a 35mm camera to a digital - called Silicon Film or something. Was it ever produced (or did anyone else produce one)?

The first slr I ever saw or used was my father's SR7. I still have some lenses from that vintage. I wish I had the camera. Minolta cameras were my introduction to photography and have always been favorites.

The current threads on best/worst lenses is interesting, and many here know my recent saga in purchasing my Canon 70-200 f2/8L IS, which brings me to what was supposed to be my next step... selling a couple of redundant lenses.
