Help over L-series lens11 Jan 2006 08:24 GMT23
I would like to get some help since I’m about to have a crisis over a
lens which I purchased some months ago. It’s a Canon EF 28-300 L IS USM.
Recently, I had its front lens element replaced by Canon in Montreal
They also said that they cleaned the other internal lens elements.

The Canon 20D is always fun to have around at family gatherings.
And in the field.
And especially at family gatherings in the field!

scanning10 Jan 2006 13:36 GMT5
Is it better to scan in a 35mm negative to the original size or to
select a target size like 4x6 before it imports into Photoshop? Or is
better to just scan in the 4x6 photo prints from the developer? The
file size must be under 100mb. The inkjet prints will be around 11x14.

I think the weather man hates me09 Jan 2006 23:53 GMT13
Seems like lately, every chance I get to go out-doors to do some
photography, it's pouring rain. But when I can't get out, it's bright &
sunny or otherwise extremely photogenic. Drat!
Provia 100F and Reala09 Jan 2006 22:10 GMT18
If the objective is to digitise the films with a scanner, is there
still a point in using the slide film? Some points courtesy of Google:
- The Reala and Provia has about the same brilliant colours.
- The RMS figures for slides and negatives cannot be compared directly.
MackCam International Warranties09 Jan 2006 21:37 GMT3
Just wanted to post my experience with Mackcam International
Warranties.  I purchased a Fuji S2 pro digital SLR about 2 years ago.
Just before Xmas the CCD (the chip that's responsible for image
creation) broke.
The stupidity of it all - or how to profit from your photos and never sell 1.09 Jan 2006 21:04 GMT5
Recently I decided the image library I've been using to sell my stock
images has not been as truthful about sales as I would like. Fine. Sell
'em yourself then. 20 Years of association gone in one sentence.
So I figured a web site and a payment gateway - like as in paypal would
A Guide to Buying Digital Camera Lenses09 Jan 2006 20:53 GMT5
Hi all
Here's a good article which explains how one can buy a proper lens for
a digital camera. Check it out:

Strange problem09 Jan 2006 18:19 GMT48
Camera: Chinon CA-4 manual, probably from 80's
this camera which is not ysed very much has a strage disfunctin. After
a shot when you forward the film, it opens the shutter and takes a
shot itself as well. I tried different settings but it happens,
Nikon AF 85 f/1.4D IF09 Jan 2006 15:43 GMT10
Hi group,
anybody here using that lens? What's the verdict? I'm intending to use it on
two 35mm bodies (FM2n and F100) as well as on a D70.
Thanks in advance for any useful information!

Television Ektanon09 Jan 2006 02:01 GMT2
I bought these 3 Television Ektanon lenses, they look very much like
Ektra Ektars down to the lens mount.
They are: 50/1.9, 90/3.5 and 135/3.8.
Anyone know the history and usage of these lenses?
