[SI] Still life - Alan's comments22 Jan 2006 03:45 GMT16
Nice to see a little more participation, this round.
Before cutting into it, a comment about what a "Still Life" is:  A still
life is composed, and limited to, a composition of inanimate objects.

OM 4 / (T) Serial numbers / upgraded cct board info needed22 Jan 2006 01:15 GMT1
What was the range of serial numbers for the OM4 and OM4T

affected on the early models with the heavy battery drain problems. Or
[SI] snow (white/black) comments21 Jan 2006 22:12 GMT21
Tom - the lighting on the snow is very dramatic.  i think you could have
emphasized this even more by pointing the camera down and to the right.
also, given all the time in the world to sit around and wait for the sun,
another hour or so would have yielded even more dramatic results ...

Lost in the noise: No more Konica film21 Jan 2006 16:06 GMT7
With all the fuss over Konica-Minolta getting out of the camera
business, I haven't seen much about the fact that they're also going to
stop making film and photo paper after March of next year. I never used
Konica film myself, but I know people who are fans of it.
Sony to take over from Minolta?21 Jan 2006 15:35 GMT3
Just heard the news today about Konica Minolta dropping out of the
camera business. Reputedly they will sell that division of their
operations to Sony.
Does anybody out there know if Sony will then continue with

Metering with modern body for m42 lenses?20 Jan 2006 17:12 GMT21
I am thinking of buying a cheap modern film body to take some m42 lenses.
What I am concerned about is this:
If I was to buy, say, a low-end EOS body such as a Rebel XS/EOS 500
could the camera be used in aperture priority mode?

50mm f1.4 and 85mm f1.4 in Nikon AIS, with suggestions of M42 as well. That
should mean open aperture metering with Canon and Pentax bodies via an
adapter. JPEGS indicate a f2.0 Distagon and an f2.0 Makro Planar in the
Om 10 Type II  Will not work in Manual or B position but fine in auto?20 Jan 2006 13:31 GMT7
My Om 10 Type II  Will not work in Manual or B position but works fine

when in manual mode with adapter there is no difference in speeds at
Studio flashes with differente temperature20 Jan 2006 09:10 GMT3

this particular product, the new ones have a declared temperature of
5300-5600k. Will I have any bad effect when mixing light of different

I'm finally taking some time to comment and I'm sorry I've taken so long to
do so.
Bandicoot - very nice use of light.  it reminds me of a Rembrant painting.
IMO this is the best image in the set - tied with Doug's duck head.
