A difficult lighting situation.  Unfortunately, as you used a polarizer
at a wide angle, and face to the light source, the polarization took
place mainly at the bottom of the image giving it that "ND" grey at the

Any good stores in the area?

Adobe RGB vs. sRGB confusion24 Jan 2006 03:12 GMT19
I am very confused by sRGB vs. Adobe RGB.  I have a Canon 20D and Photoshop
CS2.  Both have settings for sRGB or Adobe RGB workspace.  I know the Adobe
is supposed to have more colors, but Canon cautions against it in the owners
manual.  "Design rule for Camera File System 2.0 (Exif ...
Pentax ME-F: mirror problem?23 Jan 2006 21:53 GMT1
I picked up a 2nd-hand Pentax ME-F in a shop the other day.
I paid almost nothing for it which is just as well as it seems to have
the following problem:
when I depress the shutter-button there's a delay before it fires. The

Does anyone have experience with Vuescan or Silverfast on
Konica-Minolta negative digitizers?  How do they compare with

Epson Printer question23 Jan 2006 14:28 GMT7
I own the Stylus 2200 but it's been uplgugged for over a year. I
haven't been shooting, printing or scanning much - been playing and
writing music. Am I screwed? Is the ink going to dry (or has it dried),
and will that damage the printer? Is there a way to do repairs myself?

"I've also just discovered Velvia 100 (although in 6x6; I don't shoot

About a 3rd party lens.23 Jan 2006 01:58 GMT3
One of my friends in UK is buying a Canon EOS 350D (digital Rebel XT).
He wants to use Tamron AF 18-200 mm F3.5 - F6.3 Di-II with it. How good
is this lens compared to its price range? I can not find it in
fredmiranda (http://www.fredmiranda.com/reviews/showcat.php?cat=43).
Information on ROBOT Star22 Jan 2006 20:43 GMT7
I recently received a Robot STAR (Biotar 4cm/2.0, D1516xx) as a Birthday
present.  Several questions have come up.
How do you reset the film counter; there is part of a toothed wheel that
protrudes at the back just to the back left of the film counter.  It

Sigma EX 2.0 Teleconverter APO DG for Dynax 9?22 Jan 2006 17:45 GMT1
The biggest lens I have at the moment is a Sigma EX 70-200/2.8 and
since I am going to Gabon this summer to shoot wildlife, I though I'd
need something bigger. So...
The new Sigma EX 2.0 Teleconverter APO DG ... does it also work with
THE FALL OF THE 20D !!!22 Jan 2006 16:15 GMT3
Well, bad news sports fans!
I was out yesterday taking pics of the sandhill cranes (see links
below), and my trusty 20D took a bad fall off a handrail onto a wooden
deck.  It was probably my fault since I had my shutter release cable
There is no market for real cameras anymore.22 Jan 2006 14:52 GMT273
"Following the success of our digital line-up over the last seven years,
which has resulted in more than 95% of Nikon's UK business being within the
digital area, Nikon Corporation has made the decision to focus management
resources on digital cameras in place of film cameras. This ...
