35mm Film vs Digital again22 Dec 2005 04:45 GMT23
I just realised - this debate about film vs digital has been done all wrong
up till now. So far people have argued about the technical aspects, the
not-so-technical "look" of film, the cost of equipment vs ongoing cost, the
relative enjoyment etc etc etc. Everyone (including ...
Nikon going the way Pentax did21 Dec 2005 21:59 GMT121
I have feeling I have seen this before
I used to have a spotmatic then pentax were leaders in their field. and they
rested on their laurels
I fear Nikon are doing the same. I suspect Nikon will lose even more of the

My brother is looking for Canon 20D and there is talk about Canon closing

Thanks in advance.
Hey Bret...Manual HDR merge....from 1 exposure...21 Dec 2005 06:39 GMT11

Here is a shot that was impossible to get without filters and trial and
error, but I did it with 1 exposure.  The car is black so it requires
more exposure, and to get the sky that color and rich required a FAR
the High, low light ISO Myth and EOS DSLRs21 Dec 2005 05:07 GMT40
Some time back I made the outrageous claim that a Panasonic FZ20
'Digicam' took better pictures in low light than a Canon 20D. At the
time I didn't have any interest in documenting the claim. I just
accepted that there were unshakable believers in the God of EOS who cry
Plarizing Sheet for Strobes21 Dec 2005 00:18 GMT5
I am photographing quilts. Sometimes, it is hard to get some of the detail
stitching to show in the quilts. Mostly when the contrast is low. I've tried
raking the light, changing light levels from one side to the other, etc.
with little success in getting this detail to pop out. ...
cleaning classic K-100020 Dec 2005 18:01 GMT12
I have a 1979 Pentax K-1000 which has been a constant companion for 26
years since I was 15yo. I kept it clean for years until the kids cam
along and I handled it with popcorn grease, sandy-salty seashore hands
with traces of sunscreen. I need to know how to do some basic cleaning
New 110 film at Walgreens!!!20 Dec 2005 06:56 GMT29
I was just at my local Walgreen's, a chain pharmacy and general shop here
in the states, and saw 110 film on the rack. I asked the photo department
girl about it and she said they always use to carry it but stopped for a
bit and now the distributor has a new batch of it. I ...

question: D70s19 Dec 2005 08:40 GMT2
I just recently bought a Nikon D70s. And have a few questions on it.
First, right above the battery charger bar in the upper left hand corner
of the top screen, it says ISO AUTO, and keeps blinking when I attempt
to push the button down to take a picture.

I got the D200!! Hurray!!!18 Dec 2005 16:34 GMT14

I notified Nikon weeks ago that I am leaving for a trip. Its either
the D200, or I go Canon.  They responded with all doable in their
power to keep me a Nikon user and to bring back some spectacular
