I received one of these as a gift from the seller of my Leica M6 last
night. Unfortunately there was a battery inside that has probably not
seen the light of day since the item was purchased back in 1959! I
managed to get the battery cover off and there is some corrosion, but

best Epson printer for color?13 Nov 2005 22:50 GMT5
Looking to get a very good color printer.  I see that the R2400 is their
newest model, but it seems that it's biggest advantage is for B&W.  Would it
make more sense to get the R1800 or R800 (if I don't mind 8x10 max size)?
Thanks.

in there myself ;-). Maybe tomorrow...

...my Leica M6.
This decision has actually been keeping me up at night! The announcement
of the D200 hasn't exactly made the choice any easier, but the way I
looked at it was that in 6 months time I will still be able to get the
LKM Slide Magazines12 Nov 2005 15:59 GMT1
Are there any properly rigid LKM magazines on the market? All those I have
tried so far, including reputable branded ones, are far too flexible when
loaded with 80 slides and give trouble with slides jamming.

The Perfect Camera12 Nov 2005 15:27 GMT35
Just for fun, I thought I'd post what I would consider the perfect camera.
Obviously since no one camera is perfect for everyone, others will have
different ideas.
Body - small and light, but solidly constructed. About the size of Pentax
Broken Nikon N90 -- Repair, Replace, or Upgrade?11 Nov 2005 21:15 GMT14
About 8 years ago I abandoned the Minolta XK SLR system that I'd been
amassing since 1975 and bought my first AF/AE camera, a used Nikon N90.
It's given me good service since then and I've finally added an N90s and a
D70 along with 7 lenses to the system.  But on a recent trip to ...

Nikon Vs Canon10 Nov 2005 18:06 GMT62
Made my decision! After being a Nikon user for too many years, I've
looked at the D2X and D200 and find both inadaquate. Nikon is living on
past laureates. Not only are they not offering the best technology,
they are doing worse. They continue to market products down our throats
using a flash - technique question10 Nov 2005 13:17 GMT14
I have a nikon D70 and sb800 flash.  A friend told me that at a wedding
when there's no suitable ceiling to bounce off (the ceiling is much too
high) that he puts on his diffuser dome and points the flash at 60
degrees (90 being straight up at ceiling).  I always thought, that if
Help for Nikon mount lens09 Nov 2005 20:47 GMT8
I have a question regarding a specific nikon mount. I have an Exacta 35-70
3.5/4.8 manual for Nikon AI. Would this lens fit the D70 dslr ? I googled it
but managed to get more confused as I don't have a nikon and many threads
assume you've seen one...

Sigma 600mm cat lens construction09 Nov 2005 17:54 GMT6
Need help with a lens problem i.e. the front element fell off.
Does anybody have one of these that could describe the front of the

On mine I suspect that there should be a ring that stops the glass
