Shoot Kodak VC160 at 100? Can someone clarify?02 Oct 2005 21:19 GMT16
Hi folks --
I have some outdoor portraits to shoot later this weekend, which is new
to me.  I was at my local store (the venerable Adorama) and asked for a
recommendation on film.  They recommended Kodak VC160, which certainly
AFS Nikkor 300 mm f/2.8 VR for cheap used? <g>02 Oct 2005 20:56 GMT4
Damn, I was poking around the web looking at lenses & stumbled on a
review for the AFS Nikkor 300 mm f/2.8 VR, wow, sounds great! only it
costs about $5,000. Damn <g>
I was originally looking for a macro lens and led towards something more
200-300 Nikkor for closeup02 Oct 2005 20:39 GMT6
This is a refined followup to my recent mis-titled post. I'm looking for
a long lens to do closeup work of flowers & bugs with exceptional image

It's well-designed ergonomically and appeared in excellent
condition, so I tried to use it.
Sales scams02 Oct 2005 00:46 GMT9
Has anyone else noticed how nice and tranquil this group has become
since the DSLR group was formed? I like it a lot.
Anyway, speaking of digital, I placed an ad in the Junkmail mag a couple
of weeks ago asking for a used D2H. I got a phone call at 10pm the night
My KEH experience - A mixed review01 Oct 2005 23:26 GMT12
After the untimely failure of my XG-7's shutter curtain after ONLY 26
years <G!>, I found myself in the market for a replacement MF Minolta
body so that I could continue using my 4 MD lenses, as my "go digital"
date is still a few months off.

[SI] Announcement - Change to mandator dates01 Oct 2005 17:36 GMT2
Due to Lisa H finding other things to do with her time, her slot in the
mandate order has been filled by Ken.
Lisa has, in the meantime, indicated that she doesn't want to suggest a
mandate in this round.
