Is it worth repairing a lens?15 Sep 2005 19:49 GMT14
I am asking for opinions on this problem.
I have a Pentax ZX-7 with a Pentax FA 1:4 28-70mm AL lens.  This is an
autofocus, fully automatic lens purchased 5 years ago.   Over the last year,
the lens has been clouding up.  Something inside the lens is either growing
Leica M6 or M6TTL15 Sep 2005 16:37 GMT14
I'm torn between these two! I can get either for what I think is a very
fair price, but I don't know which of them would be the better choice.
The M6 I am considering is in EX++ condition and the owner wants around
$1100 for it. The M6 TTL looks to be in as good a condition but ...

Gray Market Mamiya Gear14 Sep 2005 21:35 GMT16
I recall reading something that described how assertive the US importer of
Mamiya gear was in protecting its territory.  The article said that Mamiya
cameras and lenses were priced much higher in the US than in any other
country, and that the official importer was asserting ...

Old Undeveloped Film14 Sep 2005 02:02 GMT13
I found an old roll of film in my attic.  I want to know what is on it, but I
don't know if I can develop it or not.  Everyone I go to won't touch it.  I
just want to try.  It is Kodacolor II.  It has a zebra stripe pattern at both
ends of the canister, but the colors are the Kodak ...
current state of KEH?13 Sep 2005 21:27 GMT25
Am looking to buy a couple used MF lenses.  I've never bought from KEH
before, but have heard so many good things about them.  Their prices seem to
be pretty reasonable right now, at least for what I'm looking for.  I
googled a bit, and found great praise, but most of it is from ...
Correcting Colour in Photoshop13 Sep 2005 11:24 GMT27
Does anyone have a sure-fire algorithm for getting images to look how you
want them to?
I've scanned some Agfa Optima 100 film, and raw output is so wrong I'm at my
wits end trying to adjust a bit of blue here, a bit of green there, and oh!
film truly is dead13 Sep 2005 00:28 GMT141
that's it folks I give up on film.
I believed that I could stick with it, but no more, I am done!
The stupid photo lab people just drove me nuts!
I mean come on, why do I have to get 2mp quality grainy photos
Pricing photos for magazines13 Sep 2005 00:05 GMT17
Usually magazines have a set payment schedule for use of images.  A
relatively new publication (a phone book) wanted to use some of mine and I
charged $50 each for spot use (up to 1/4 page).  I since found out that they
charge $1,100 for an ad the same size.  Should I consider their ...
Konica Minolta DSLR lens Question12 Sep 2005 18:06 GMT7
I notice that the new 5D kit comes with an 18-70mm lens and the 7D kit comes
with a 28-100mm lens.  As the 1.5x factor makes my 24-85mm zoom and 24mm and
28mm primes into 'longer' lenses, I am in need of a wide angle solution when
I buy either a 5D or 7D.  I put my Maxxum stuff away ...
HP or Epson for large prints?12 Sep 2005 13:41 GMT8
Looking at getting my first higher-end photo printer.  I see that Epson has
a new model, the 2400, that seems to be the standard for artists looking to
display/sell prints.  Someone recently said I should look at the HP line
also.  Any experiences?
Scanning away...12 Sep 2005 07:45 GMT4
After some very nervous moments installing the Konica Minolta DiMAGE
Scan Dual IV on Friday evening, I can happily report that everything
went smoothly during the installation. Apparently some people have a
problem installing this scanner in WinXP.
52mm wide-angle for reversing?11 Sep 2005 21:14 GMT18
I have an A95 and want to experiment with reversed lenses for macro. I
bought the adaptor to the 52mm thread and now I need a 52mm lens to start
shooting. Tried my canon ef 50/1.8 and it's fine but I want more
magnification. I understand I need to go wider.

accessories and film in Seoul while i am there, could someone suggest any
good camera shops around?
