1) You've tried to join the SI mandator list long after the call for
mandators has closed.
2) Your e-mail address (above) is bouncing.
3) Next call for mandators will be around late Feb, 2006.

Favorite Lens Discussion26 Sep 2005 21:05 GMT33
Very quick discussion, please name a lens that is your favorite and
why.  I'll start.
Contax 45mm/f2 - Reason: Sharpest most contrastly lens that I own in
all my gear (~15 SLR/Rangefinder lenses).  The cost is a bargain.
Nikon F601:Lenses26 Sep 2005 15:22 GMT6
I have just bought a Nikon F601 SLR on Ebay - for £43 - around $
77:described as Excellent ++: 'fingers crossed' for when it arrives!
Although I have a Canon G6 digicam I had a hankering for a film camera
to use as well - a touch of nostalgia for the 'old days' perhaps?!
Digital Question25 Sep 2005 22:02 GMT29
I was talking with my wife and it may be possible that I will be able to get
my hands on a top end digital camera for Christmas. I went to the Nikon
website to see what was available: the D2 series looks good! My present
Nikon body is an FM2, so all my lenses are manual F-mounts; ...
Nikon G-series lenses on F4 & N7025 Sep 2005 18:55 GMT7
What exactly is sacrificed when you use a G-series lens on an F4 or N70?  I
know there's no aperture ring on the lens and I'm assuming that there's no
way to set the aperture directly.  Do you see what aperture has been
selected, say in Matrix metering mode?  Can you set the ...
Ballhead problem25 Sep 2005 03:22 GMT11
Have a Manfrotto 3265 hand-grip ballhead.  It has suddenly started
rotating around in circles.  Not easily, but no real resistence,
either.  The part that surrounds the ball is attached above by the base
of the hand-grip.  It's the hand-grip that rotates.  It's not supposed

Can I get a bargain on a camera in San Francisco?24 Sep 2005 18:45 GMT56
I'm in town (SF) for the week, and thought I'd take advantage of the
700$ worth of "stuff" I can bring back across the line (Canada)
duty-free and pick up a decent digital P&S if I can find a good buy(my
*ist DS is just to bulky to pack around all the time)
Ever heard of this lens..?24 Sep 2005 18:41 GMT1
Ok, I've scoured the internet and can't find a single mention of a
"Greens Federal" lens. This one is a rather unusual-looking 135mm M42
lens. Anyone come across these before?
