HUMMERS @ 6,000 FEET07 Aug 2005 17:01 GMT1
Went up to Clingman's Dome in the Smokey Mountains today.  That's the
highest point in Tennessee, btw.  On the steep trek up there, I saw
these guys playing in some wildflowers:

[SI] Sinister comments06 Aug 2005 18:14 GMT3
I've decided to try and make some time for comments, apart from anything
else it forces me to consider what it is that I like about different
images, which can only be good for my photography, probably a lot more
than just submitting photos - besides which, what's the shootin ...

prints on cd06 Aug 2005 02:43 GMT2
Now it seems all labs give you photos on cd for 0.99c extra
whether you like it or not.
So you get prints, negatives, and a cd.
However, the software that comes on the cd is so annoying
unprocessed roll of film on Columbia05 Aug 2005 19:41 GMT8
I ran across this NASA site.  They say that a roll of unprocessed film was
recovered from the Columbia wreckage and the images were intact.

Now how the heck does this survive when everything else burned?!
Slides overexposure05 Aug 2005 15:21 GMT14
the guy I buy film from, suggested me to overexpose Velvia, by changing
the ISO setting for Velvia 50 to ISO 40 and for 100 to 90. Any
experiences? Does the same stand for sensia?
Thanks a lot!!!
a plea for more sensitivity05 Aug 2005 11:40 GMT29
"TOWEL HEADS"
Recently I received a warning about the use of this politically
incorrect term, so please note, we all need to be more sensitive in our
choice of words.

scanning 35 mm slides05 Aug 2005 03:22 GMT6
Can someone give me an answer to what resolution 35mm slides should be
scanned at.  Mostly for 4x6 prints.  I have about 2000 slides to scan.
I have tried 300 ppi at 4x6 target size which gives 1200x1800 size
pictures.  This to me seems okay, but I read some sites and higher
Need Empty 35 mm 36 Exp. Slide Boxes05 Aug 2005 00:09 GMT5
Since Kodak/Qualex stopped mounting my stereo slides, I mount my own, no
problem there. But I use to keep them, conveniently, in the boxes that
Kodak supplied. I've used the boxes since my entrance into the 3D arena,
1957. I'm suffering from withdrawal, and would like to buy (For ...
Nikkor AF28-70 3.5-4.5D question04 Aug 2005 15:25 GMT5
I just received a mint version of this lens. I haven't mounted it on a
camera yet (I'm in my office) but I noticed an odd thing. When the focus
ring is turned all the way so the infinity symbol is lined up with a white
mark, the zoom range is limited from 50mm to 70mm (if it was on ...
Canon equivalent of the Pentax pancake?04 Aug 2005 09:43 GMT29
I'll soon be the owner of a Canon EOS 3, my first move into the world of
auto-focus after using trusty Pentax gear for 9+ years.
My carry-all setup is a Pentax Super Program with Motor Drive A, and the
Pentax "pancake" (40/2.8) lens.  I'd like to know if there is an
Konica Autoreflex T4 repairing03 Aug 2005 23:03 GMT8

-The mirror is locked in the up position.
-Shutter button depresses but doesn't fire the shutter.
-Advance lever locked, although I still can turn the meter on and off.
The Nikon Handbook by Peter Braczko03 Aug 2005 20:25 GMT1
I found a slightly tattered copy of this book for sale in a local
bookstore on Saturday. I got it for about 25% of the original price!
Anyway, it's a fantastic resource book for anyone wanting information on
the Nikon system, and MY! what a system it is!!! I had no idea on half of
