Any Suggestions?14 Jul 2005 06:41 GMT10
I'm planning an upgrade of the equipment in my camera bag and have a
question I'd like to pose. Currently I own:
- Nikon F80
- Nikon AF 24-120 F/3.5-5.6 VR ED lens
A Whole New Infrared World14 Jul 2005 04:16 GMT2
I've recently purchased a new light meter from David Romano online and
it's just the coolest thing to be able to use Kodak HIE (High Speed
Infrared Black and White) film and actually have a meter that works
correctly for the film. It's a modified Minolta Auto Meter VF. I took
Who uses both (yes, film AND digital) & why?14 Jul 2005 03:03 GMT138
1. 135 film for b&w.
2. 135 c-41 for when I know something needs to be kept.
Negs are a good thing.
3. 4x5 film when I really want all the information.
20D NOT IMMUNE TO RED-EYE !!!14 Jul 2005 02:08 GMT14

There is an R9 with digital back on ebay right now.  If you got $9k you are
all set.
The point of 35mm photography13 Jul 2005 19:36 GMT40
Is that the film is (or was)  actually a by-product of the cinema
industry and therefore cheap, so one not be stingy, vis-a-vis rollfilm
or sheet.
SCORPIOS LOVE THE 20D !!!13 Jul 2005 06:24 GMT9
Ok Macro Maniacs, I know I haven't posted in a few days,
but I've been having trouble with my putting.
I did manage to get out to the back porch after the golf
today to take these:

All shot with a 10D Canon DSLR with (SHOCK - HORROR) a Sigma 28~70 f2.8
lens of all things. Surely he jests? No! It's true cried the court
jester, forgive me for I have Sigmad and seek penance from the lord of EOS.
Canon 100-400 EF Lens12 Jul 2005 23:32 GMT20
I've been seriously thinking about geting this lens for my Canon
Digital Rebel and have heard about some problem with the push-pull
design on this unit and resultant dust on the sensor.    Is this a
real problem or some kind of urban legend ?
How can I tell what negative film I shot?12 Jul 2005 21:32 GMT5
It was stupid of me but I didn't look carefully at the cassette when I
handed it in at the camera store along with 3 rolls of slide film and
there's absolutely no identifying information I can read on the edge of the
negative strips, just frame numbers on one edge and on the other ...

Question: use filter with 500mm mirror lens?11 Jul 2005 06:41 GMT14
I'm looking for any info on whether a UV or skylight filter might degrade
or enhance sharpness of my Pentax camera lens... a 500mm 1:8.0 made by
Tokina.  Most such Maksutovs for camera use are sold with a filter kit, so
I imagine they could hardly harm the image.  Perhaps the ...
Tripods and Travelling these days11 Jul 2005 00:34 GMT50
I'm going on a photo trip in September. In the past, I would carry on
my camera bag (mini trekker small photo backpack) and my Gitzo 1228 4
section carbon fiber tripod.
I'm guessing in Bush's America this might not work anymore. Has anyone
Rollei b3511 Jul 2005 00:28 GMT4
I bought my Rollei B35 a couple of weeks ago, at a Photographic Market while
on holiday in Australia for $100, with a flash unit. The nice man who sold it,
of course, told me that it has been a wonderful camera, and he bought it when
they first came out and was selling it only now, ...
