Good commercial film scanners?06 Jun 2005 20:52 GMT5
Any recommendations for a good negatives scanner for the home?  My
scanner is getting kind of old and dusty and I'd rather just scan right
from the source if possible instead of trying to get something good out
of "just okay" prints from the local developer.

What does Guide number mean on Flashes?06 Jun 2005 16:04 GMT19
Does anyone know what the Guide Number (GN) on a Camera Electronic Flash
mean? Is the GN the higher the better ilumination will be? I am thinking of

[SI] Bowser's "bad" shot06 Jun 2005 15:18 GMT2
OK, maybe it isn't a bad shot, but it was an accident that turned out good.

when I lowered the cam, I hit the shutter, it fired, and I got the best
expressions on the kids of the lot. It's an archive from ...

Canon aperture ?05 Jun 2005 20:46 GMT3
I have a few MINT Cannon lenses. The aperture does not open or close
while turning ring with the lens off the camera. Is this normal for
Canon lenses? Do they have to be on camera to work?
If they are stuck, approximately how much is a repair.
recruiting remarkable subjects for portraiture05 Jun 2005 18:46 GMT3
I just saw a girl whose looks captured my eyes; very, very fascinating.
It would be hard to describe her, but she had a statuesque body and
moved with immense elegance. Her hair was short like sinead o'connor
and she wore a black bowler hat. She also wore a blazer, a very
