| Once again, the death of film | 15 Jun 2005 19:06 GMT | 101 |
More blah-blah about the death of film. I hate this crap since I love film, but I thought it might be of interest to some of you: <http://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/c/a/2005/05/23/MNGNVCT8F01.DTL&type=tech>

| Canon Canoscan 8400F | 15 Jun 2005 18:36 GMT | 1 |
Just got this scanner yesterday for color film negatives. Works like a charm with both print and film. Also has guide attachments for 35mm slides and medium format! As expected, it's on the slower side (compounded by the fact that I'm still running a system with USB 1.1).

| Telyt 400 6.8 or Novoflex? | 15 Jun 2005 00:46 GMT | 4 |
I was wondering if anyone has some actual experience using the Leitz Telyt 400mm 6.8 as well as the Novoflex 400mm 5.6. They seem to use the same lens scheme, so I'd imagine that the Novoflex is also affected by Leitz's notorious curvature of field. The Leitz is

| scanner software: Silverfast or VueScan?? | 14 Jun 2005 15:38 GMT | 13 |
I want to start scanning color prints using my Epson 1200/U scanner. The software that came with the scanner is, to put it politely, atrocious. I've read about Silverfast and VueScan. Silverfast makes claims that make it sound like it's better than VueScan, but it's hard

| Nikon N75 or Canon Rebel Ti | 13 Jun 2005 18:19 GMT | 1 |
I'm considering buying one of those two cameras either Nikon N75 (F75) or Canon Rebel Ti. I guess, I could consider some similar Minolta or Pentax as well. What are the major, or minor, differences between those two? I'm kind of leaning toward Nikon.

| Kodachrome processing | 13 Jun 2005 18:06 GMT | 3 |
I am looking for recommendations for US Kodak Kodachrome processing. I had hitherto used the local photography store, now closed, where the slides had come back in Kodak boxes and mounts. My findings are:

| Sure Shot 80 Tele manual film wind? | 12 Jun 2005 21:29 GMT | 10 |
I've got an old Sure Shot 80 Tele that still has film in it, partially used. I'd like to have the film developed but I no longer have a battery for the camera and would prefer to not buy one, as I don't intend to use the Sure Shot again. As I have no instruction manual

| photography newbie - is my camera any good? | 12 Jun 2005 19:12 GMT | 8 |
I'm just beginning the steep climp of learning photography. I've done a bit of practice with a low budget digital camera (concord 3045) which was fine - but now I feel I'm ready to move onto something more powerful.
