| signal/noise of film vs digital | 18 Jun 2005 20:40 GMT | 2 |
Roger N. Clark: I've looked at your data, and I've never shot digital so I can't really compare, but my experience seems to be at variance with your conclusions.

| Nikon FM2n | 18 Jun 2005 19:08 GMT | 20 |
The latest addition to my growing family of manual cameras was a direct swap for an SB-28 speedlite I wasn't using. The one I have is chrome and prior to me getting my paws on it, had never been used. I have no manual unfortunately and forgot to ask the previous owner what

| Anyone here used the petri 35? | 18 Jun 2005 15:31 GMT | 5 |
I was looking at a book in the library by a guy who uses hasselblad, and his other camera was a petri 35. Cameraquest has good words about them. Anyone here used them?

| Travel/photography in China | 17 Jun 2005 23:37 GMT | 1 |
I have found that I can break my flight to the UK with a stopover in Hong Kong. I hope to trave a bit in China while there, hopefully to the 3 Gorges area. Any tips/suggestions on travel/photography in China?

Hi UC, Some people have probably sent you to their "kill file", in this NG and others (alt.food.wine), maybe more. I'm still going to give you the benefit of the doubt because you

| How good are you at guessing exposure? | 17 Jun 2005 08:57 GMT | 27 |
I think I am getting relatively good at it myself, but I still wouldn't trust my instincts on a roll of expensive slide film. Using my Leica M3 with 200ISO print film without a meter has given me fairly good results in various lighting situations. What I would like to

| Small cameras, motor drives. etc | 17 Jun 2005 08:26 GMT | 23 |
The Nikon FM2n thread piqued my interest. I certainly don't have any criticism of Nikon cameras, but I was "born and raised" on the Canon FD system. If I want to travel light, I'll bring a Canon A-1 (no winders or motor drives), but

Back in 2003, I photographed a local 10K race. I did it for free for the non-profit organization that holds the race and gave them a couple of CD's with all the images and specifically gave the organizers permission to use the photos however they wanted and they didn't even have to ...

| 35mm SLR for $150-$200 | 16 Jun 2005 18:41 GMT | 9 |
I am not a pro, just getting into SLR. At this time, I am not planning to commit myself to any single brand or system, or buy more than 2-3 lenses for the camera. That's why I am limiting the price $150-$200.

I took my F70 on a recent trip to Nigeria. I replaced the batteries before I left with a couple of Duracells with a 2014 expiry. Took two more with me. Nine days later and six rolls of film the batteries are dead. Changed
