General lens for an old Nikon FG-20 (AI-S mount)26 Jun 2005 07:01 GMT10
My Vivitar 75-200mm zoom has given up - nothing is in focus anymore;
dropped one too many times, I guess.... I need a replacement, but not
one that'll break the bank. I'd prefer not to spend any more than $100;
the camera's not used a lot and it's certainly not worth much anymore;

Advice on Nikon 80-200 f/2.8 AF 26 Jun 2005 00:05 GMT4
For my Nikon F4, I need an f/2.8 80-200mm (or something similar) AF
lens.  Two models that I am looking at are:
  AF-S 80-200 f/2.8D IF-ED (2.5x)
  AF   80-200 f/2.8D ED    (2.5x)
Is it time to stock up on 35mm Film?25 Jun 2005 19:15 GMT12
As a hobbyist gear head/photographer, I enjoy taking pictures with a
lot of classic cameras (35mm). It seems like every time I go to the
camera store, there is less and less film being sold. I mostly use
Tri-X (in 100' rolls), Tech Pan, Kodak High speed Infrared, Velvia, and

Is there a Russian film camera in your future?25 Jun 2005 10:06 GMT34
If the Japanese manufacturers abandon film entirely, the Russians could
quite easily fill the void.  They could have themselves a nice little
niche market, if the Chinese don't beat them to the punch.  I think the
potential is there, if they can modernize their designs and bring
Tripod advice25 Jun 2005 06:50 GMT19
I need a new tripod, having broken the leg brace on my 10yr old Cobra
(despite my best efforts with superglue and elastic bands it remains
broken).
The moths have established a major civilisation in my wallet, so in
losing film advantage in labs25 Jun 2005 04:47 GMT20
I still prefer film but have recently found out that my color film is now
digitized then printed. This process usually loses information (detail,
saturation). I'm certain there are labs still processing the negatives then
printing from the negatives rather than a digitized image. ...
What genres of photography could remain staunchly film?25 Jun 2005 03:10 GMT79
It's fairly easy to see that certain genres of photography may get more
benefit from switching to digital, but which will remain with a strong
preference for film?

According to the instruction book, it is a 35 mm programmed shutter EE camera
with date recorder and built-in flash.  Sales slip ...
