Wrong colours18 May 2005 17:57 GMT16
I just got back the CDs of photos of my daughter's wedding from the
photographer and in some of the photos in the church the brown brick
wall of the church has a greenish tinge and in the shots taken at the
alter her white wedding dress is pink. Also, the white table cloths at
Loose aperture ring for an AI'd lens18 May 2005 16:13 GMT2
This is a Vivitar 20mm f/3.8 AI'd lens. Now the situation is
that aperture ring assembly (the aperture ring itself and the
ring showing the DOF scale) is loose from the lens barrel
containing the focus ring, front lens group and rear group.
Vivitar Minolta Lenses18 May 2005 13:34 GMT6
I have three Vivitar lenses for the Minolta SRT body:  28mm/f2.5,
135mm/f2.8, and 400mm/f5.6. They are all as new. Are they worth
anything these days?

Insuring photo gear18 May 2005 11:01 GMT5
Just wondering what you guys do for insurance. I was alarmed to find a
clause in the small print of my house contents policy (under personal
possessions) that specifically limits the value of photographic
equipment left in an unoccupied vehicle to £2000.
Minolta UV Filter - multicoated?18 May 2005 07:57 GMT9
I recently bought a Minolta 35-70mm f/3.5-4.5 lens. Alongwith the lens,
I got a Minolta UV filter. Now, I mostly keep a UV filter on all my
lenses but a good quality one like B+W or Hoya SMC. How do I tell if
this Minolta filter is any good? I bought the 35-70mm given its good
Compact 35mm Camera with Date Imprint Facility18 May 2005 07:44 GMT10
Anyone know of a compact 35mm camera (preferably sub £50) which has a
date imprint facility on it?
Many thanks,
Simon.
Can a 16.6mp SLR really outclass ISO 100 color film? -- Pop Photo Article.18 May 2005 02:59 GMT39
I still prefer film.  In all these comparisons, they never address the fact
that film and digital have different looks.  The resolution, color accuracy,
and noise ratings don't account for the different results of film and
digital.  It's like the difference between the look of ...
Which Canon EOS film camera?17 May 2005 23:11 GMT6
Hi, I have a Canon 20D, and I'm thinking about getting a film body
that fits my lenses.  I'm also weighing the idea of getting an AE-1
and just using FD lenses, I can get those pretty cheap, and I remember
them being quite good, back in the day.  But really, I'm leaning towards
Rolleiflex sl35me17 May 2005 19:34 GMT2
Anyone know a good repairer in the UK for the above camera. Have picked up a
near mint one from ebay, but the battery compartment has been damaged by the
previous owner leaving the old batteries in. Just the door needs replacing
to return it to mint. It was worth buying just for the ...
KM Centuria Super 160017 May 2005 03:44 GMT14
I'm looking at some high speed print film.  Has anyone shot Konica Minolta
Centuria Super 1600? Any comments? Any examples?  Specifically outside at
night in crappy lighting (weak incandescent from floodlights) without flash?
Same set of questions with Fuji Superia 1600.
Canon high-end telephoto lens - advice please17 May 2005 02:12 GMT9
Please forgive my intrusion. I'm not a regular here but thought you may
be able to advise me.
I have recently bought a 400mm F4 DO IS lens for wildlife photography. I
am absolutely delighted with the results I have had so far (but am still

Nikon F801 (aka 8008) Viewfinder16 May 2005 19:30 GMT8
Just bought a sceond hand Nikon F801, it seems a great piece of kit.
Only slightly puzzling/annoying feature is that I can only see the
'LCD' in the viewfinder from a certain angle, ie. when my eye is quite
low down in relation to the viewfinder. If I look through the

Does anyone know whether any of the consumer-type digital cameras have
infrared capability -  (built in filter.)
Please advise.
Thanks for your time,
Minolta Camera / Quanteray Flash -- OS-1100 & OC-1100 Question16 May 2005 17:22 GMT1
I have a Minolta Maxxum STsi with a Quanteray 8000XI Wireless flash
(from Ritz Camera).  I've been having problems with "non-fires" when
using the flash in wireless mode on a bracket.  Does anyone have any
idea if I'd have a problem connecting the camera and flash using the
