| Blue Sky From White Sky | 31 May 2005 05:06 GMT | 3 |
What is required to get a blue sky when it is not great (excluding post processing)? Graduation filters make the sky more interesting, polarizer's make it more interesting, but is there a filter which is designed just for making skies

| Nikon F5 sure is cheap these days. | 31 May 2005 04:56 GMT | 1 |
This week I received my new Nikon F5 that I got from Cameta Auctions on eBay. Since the F6 came out, Cameta has been auctioning off a steady stream of F5s. They have a positive feedback rating of over 90000. I got my F5 for $935. This is a brand new USA camera with a 3-year

| Canon 50mm f/1.4 compared to 50mm f/2.5 Macro | 30 May 2005 23:15 GMT | 5 |
I am trying to decide on the 50 f/1.4 or the 50 f/2.5 Macro. Is this typical of the distortion of the 50 f/1.4? http://www.pbase.com/image/24157481 From what I read on photozone.de the macro has no distortions or vignetting

| [SI] My Critique | 29 May 2005 21:51 GMT | 16 |
Firstly, I was really impressed with everyone's entries this time - does that say something about breaking rules? In that 'good' photos which have fulfilled the photographic rules tend to be a bit boring? It seems like most of the typical rules have been broken - except for one ...

| [SI] Breaking the Rules - Critique | 29 May 2005 21:35 GMT | 34 |
Well, I did say I hoped this mandate would provoke some discussion, so I guess I'd better get to work and do a critique to get the ball rolling... As usual, comments are from a very personal perspective. Overall, I like the group of work I'm looking at.

| Impossible meter readings from Spotmatic F | 29 May 2005 19:11 GMT | 14 |
I just acquired a couple of Spotmatic Fs to use with my M42 lens collection. Both cameras have new Zinc-air batteries. Both cameras give meter readings opposite of what I believe they should be. I'm using the Super-Takumar lenses for now (they do not have full aperture capabilty).

| HELP: Canon Rebel -- overexposed (blank) shots | 29 May 2005 06:06 GMT | 2 |
I own a Canon Rebel body which I have used for a long while. Recently, it has started 'shooting blanks.' I tried several different films. But when they are developed they are just blank. To see if there's something with the shutter, I tried clicking the camera several times ...

| Nikon N90s vs N90 | 28 May 2005 21:17 GMT | 4 |
As part of my Nikon set, I have N90 and N75 bodies and I really don't like the N75 so I'm looking to replace it with another N90. Several reputable dealers have used N90-type bodies for sale and the difference in price between an N90 and an N90s is roughly $75-100 for the same ...

| Nikon service/repair? | 28 May 2005 16:05 GMT | 4 |
Can anyone recommend a shop for routine service (CLA, light seals, & mirror box pads) for older manual focus Nikon (FE2,FA) bodies? I'm not necessarily looking for bargain-basement prices, but rather someplace that knows their Nikons, with a reputation for top-quality work.
