ANNI DROPS DIGITAL !!!07 Apr 2005 06:48 GMT16
After my bad experience with my hard drive this week, I've finally
decided to get rid of all my digital Canon junk and go back to shooting
film exclusively.  I mean, everybody knows that even the best digital
can't compare to some good Reala or Velvia.
Why some folks still shoot film ....07 Apr 2005 01:34 GMT45
When I got my new computer last year, I made sure to get a DVD burner
so i could make backups of all my digital photos.
Well, I've been farting around and I've only managed to make 3 DVDs
full so far, but that only gets me to about 2003.
Minolta XTSI consistently underexposes pictures.  Help!06 Apr 2005 23:37 GMT4
I have a Minolta XTSI (28-80mm, Minolta) that consistently underexposes
indoor and outdoor photos with or without flash.  The pictures have an
overall grayish tone to them.  As I am a reacreational/novice
photographer, I let the camera set everything automatically (film

Due to some sort of licencing thing i beleive some canon cameras don't have
the manual override display that the european ones do.  Is this correct?
Even my 300D has a 3 stop line either side of zero.  You get a floating
pointer above and below the line so you can match up the ...
Minolta 35-105mm vs 35-70mm06 Apr 2005 09:34 GMT7
Am looking for a light travel lens (also cheap) for Maxxum 5. How do
the two compare in the field? The 35-70mm f/3.5-4.5 is rated at 3.5 and
the 35-105mm is rated at 2.8 by photodo. But Photozone.de seems to like
the latter for casual use. Both can be had for less than $50 and are

Has anyone used this lens. I want to buy it for my Nikon N70.
I'm one of those "advanced amateurs" and would use it mostly for my travel
shots. I tend to print large and would like to know your opinion of the lens
The Nikon equivalent is $200 more.
Leica M3 - update06 Apr 2005 06:36 GMT5
Well it seems that when I dropped the camera bag some finder elements in
my M3 seperated causing a blackout.
According to the repair guy the elements were held together with a glue
called Canadian Balsam which is no longer available. So now they are
Difference between Nikon's D and G lenses?06 Apr 2005 05:40 GMT10
I'm a Canon user, but a friend of mine recently got a Nikon SLR
camera (body only). He want to get some lenses and the manual
recommends D or G lenses. So the question, what's the difference
between the D and G lenses?
Cheap and light lens for Minolta Maxxum 506 Apr 2005 00:36 GMT2
I am looking to buy a cheap and light travel lens for my Maxxum 5.
Cheap because I don't use the maxxum all that much so don't want to
spend mega-$$$ on a lens for it and light because I will use it for
travelling/hiking/trekking.
Repair lens06 Apr 2005 00:32 GMT2
A couple of plastic flanges that lock a lens into the camera body
broke off my Sigma 100-300 lens. Is it possible to replace the plastic
part that these flanges on?
Thanks

I'd like to thank you.
Thanks to you, I was able to trace down the polish company that sold the
image to Getty Images.
I don't think that I need a copy of the newspaper at the moment as it
SMC Pentax-M & -A series lens schematics05 Apr 2005 16:19 GMT4
I've searched without success for lens schematics for SMC Pentax-M & -A era
lenses.
The two I'm particularly interested in are the :-

After another great meal and tooo much wine I spent an hour reviewing
all (most) [SI] galleries.
Damn, there is some great photography.... I forgot how good y'all are.
Enough for two books at least.
how to view the days pictures without shooting a whole roll05 Apr 2005 12:36 GMT28

FS:Ricoh GR105 Apr 2005 10:17 GMT3
I have a mint Ricoh GR1 for sale. If you follow 35mm film cameras you
already know how highly this camera has been rated. This camera has
seen very little use. In fact, it's not even had film (or a battery)
in it for over 2  years. (I've gone digital.) The camera is absolutely
