To K , M, or A.  What's a guy to choose?19 Apr 2005 04:05 GMT12
I've been studying the posts haphazardly for the last month or so, but my
Psychiatrist has only adjusted my dosages slightly, and my physician is
only mildly concerned about my elevated blood pressure levels.
I actually took some of the groups input and bought an ME Super, but then
Learning to use first lightmeter18 Apr 2005 22:46 GMT4
I've just purchased a used Gossen Luna Pro F (analog) meter.
Fortunately, it came with a manual (which I've already read twice).
I'm still confused on a couple points and hoping that someone here may
be able lend a bit of assistance.
tripod head - bogen 3130 advice (vs 3030) needed18 Apr 2005 18:33 GMT5
I bought the bogen 3001N with 3030 head online used, but they sent it to me
the 3130 head, which appears to be  $14 dollars more when purchases new.  I
may keep the 3130 but I'm having a problem with it that maybe the 3030 would
solve.  I'd appreciate any advice or suggestions as ...

Nikkor 45mm f/2.8 Tessar?18 Apr 2005 05:41 GMT3
Okay, it's relatively new in the Nikon lineup, and it's really flat, but
without getting into a detailed discussion of optics, what does this lens
offer in terms of real-world capability over a Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 that could
be worth three times the price?
wedding shoot17 Apr 2005 11:44 GMT41
Went to a wedding yesterday.  There were 2 photogs, one using a Fuji
DSLR, the other 35mm(strange).
I had my 35mm Vivitar P&S.
I ran out of shots quickly.  lost some moments while replacing
photo processing17 Apr 2005 07:07 GMT19
I never really looked in detail how a color lab works to transfer the
image from film to paper.
I mean, when I was a kid and making my prints in my grandfather's
studio, I was using his 2m high enlarger and exposing all my prints one
What is the main factor for great looking photos17 Apr 2005 02:36 GMT30
Those photos you see in photography magazines look great.
My question is what is the main factor that makes photos look great?
is it
the type of film used?
Differences between Bogen 728B & 3405B16 Apr 2005 23:29 GMT6
I'd like to buy a new tripod and have settled between two models:
Bogen Manfrotto 728B & 3405B.  I understand from their website that the
728B replaces the older model 3405B.  However, when I read the specs, I
get the impression that the 3405B is better.  It's also about $20
Q. on Olympus Quick Flash AFL Charger15 Apr 2005 19:34 GMT2
I feel a bit silly posting such an ignorant question, but this one really has
me going. I tried Google searches on this camera, but didn't turn up the
solution. Maybe someone experienced with these old cameras can shed some light.
I found a nice looking Olympus Quick Flash AFL at ...
digital vs. film prints prices15 Apr 2005 18:26 GMT4
what would be cheaper:
A) 4 rolls of film printed at a lab.
or
B) lab printing 100 photos from the card?
Zoom lens broken?15 Apr 2005 11:11 GMT9
I am a total novice to photography but am very interested and have been
reading up on what equipment to buy etc. I bought a cheap second hand
35mm camera with a 28-80mm zoom lens.
I am sorry if this is a stupid question but I am unsure if the zoom lens
Lensbaby on ... ?15 Apr 2005 05:21 GMT1
Has anyone used a Lensbaby (weird flexible Holga-type lens that
deliberately blurs areas of your photos)? It'll be a loonng time before
I go to a digital SLR, but I'd be interested to learn if anyone's used
them with a Nikon FM, FG, EM, or similar low-end manual Nikon body. And
