Canon 16-35L vs 17-40L23 Mar 2005 19:02 GMT2
I'm considering one of these two lenses.  Has anyone used both lenses?  The
17-40 gets fantastic reviews, perhaps better than the 16-35.  The 16-35
offers one more stop, and extra wide millimeter and is reportedly better at
the long end.  The 17-40 is $700 less, and that's a lot.  ...

The worst possible start to the week23 Mar 2005 09:25 GMT10
I got out of my pick-up this morning, opened the back door and my Leica M3
bag fell out of the truck and onto the concrete floor.
It was still in the bag, but the jolt has shifted something and now the
viewfinder has blacked out. ARRRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Someone was interested in why different batteries have the voltages they do.

mercury cells, for example. Here is an explanation for this, plus some other
links to the voltages of electro chemical ...

Mercury battery update22 Mar 2005 16:48 GMT35
After checking the website of the station that ran the story about
mercury batteries in toys, I found they got the story from the state
evironmental agency.
I went to that site and read the full statement by the state agency.
Colour Laser printers22 Mar 2005 02:24 GMT12
Has anyone started using these things yet? I recently got a Samsung
CLP-500 but I am very disappointed with it. I didn't buy it with the
notion of using it to make high quality colour prints, but rather to use
as a quick and easy brochure maker.
left handed cameras22 Mar 2005 01:22 GMT28
All cameras are made for people who are right handed.  Why not a left
handed camera?  I am solely left handed (one handed).  Does anyone know
of a camera that can be appropriate for me?
SB-800 wireless21 Mar 2005 21:31 GMT10
I'm using the SB-800 with the D70. I'd like to fire the SB-800 wireless
